Need advice - present for 100 year old lady

My next door neighbor is turning 100 and my parents were invited to her party. My mom wants to get her something since we have known her for so many years.

Just a little background - this woman is an italian woman from italy - that speaks very little english - very traditional -

Any ideas for a gift?

Only kidding, I'm feeling like a tart today.

Most elderly don't get out much, how about taking her out for a nice lunch or fancy brunch somewhere local?

*lol*! She actually does go out often with her daughter so that doesnt work - i think my mom was thinking more so of a physical gift -

I would think she would like something homemade or handmade. Food or something that was sewn,knitted or crocheted.

Does she have any known interests?

My 85 year old Italian grandmother loves looking at those coffee table picture books of Italy, New York, etc. (especially the ones that show the history). Or how about some italian music that she could listen to?

That's a good one. Does she have a stereo? If not, maybe a walkman with CDs. Is she a hip 100 year old? Some are!

If her eye sight is good, some books. Otherwise there are some great books on tape. The other choice is maybe tickets to a show?
