need help - how much would you pay for place cards
hi everyonei am trying to start my own wedding business designing place cards for weddings - i have done a bucnh for friends weddings (for free of course) and want to get an idea on how much you guys would be willing to pay for them (or if you would be at all) so that i could figure out pricing.
what i do is i design the place cards based on whatever theme someone tells me what to do - once they pick a card they send me the list of names and i personalize the cards for them - the completed job is given to them as placecards that are freestanding and with all of their guests names typeset onto them already.
here are some samples
some opinions on pricing would be great
also - should i offer that people can pick existing designs that i have already done (like the ones i am showing you) for a cheaper price (since it is less work) and if so what price for those?
thanks in advance for your help

Re: need help - how much would you pay for place cards
that's tough...these were mine. Here were the costs:$1.00 for each frame
$0.15 each hand caligraphy
I bought the sheets of rose paper in 8x10 size and cut them myself.
Each sheet of paper was $0.20 and I probably got 10 cards from each sheet.
So, these came out to about $1.25 each after sales tax

Re: need help - how much would you pay for place cards
I think what you posted would cater to a large group of brides on this site - especially if they had font options - but they are not my style.I paid $1.35 for computer calligraphy on an envelope and card (price includes shipping). Considering my reception site provides placecards, I considered this purchase a 'splurge' (for lack of a better word).
My cards were very simple in comparison to what you posted - I also had a choice of fonts and colors (color printing for an extra $.10) and envelopes & cards.
I'm not sure how much effort went into the ones you posted - was the clipart readily available to you?
I think another option would be to google - cause I've seen cards such as what you've posted when I was looking - and see what those people are charging as well.
Good luck!
ETA: these were mine. What you see is the envelope...inside was a card with a little note 'directing' the guest to their table.

Re: need help - how much would you pay for place cards
thanks so much for everyones feedbacki was having such a hard time figuring out if it would be worth my while to go ahead and do this
and i figured who would be best to ask then all of the brides on here.
to answer some of the questions -im a graphic designer so i can find almost anything that anyone would want on a card relatively easily - and different fonts and colors would be available as well.
the quality is handmade, of course, but still pretty decent - they are all a cover stock white cardboard - folded into a triangle with a base so that they are freestanding - if someone just wanted to insert them into a frame - i could just make the card too
i guess the best thing for me to do now would be to go and do a search on google like someone suggested...
thanks again for all of everyones help
i have some ideas now for pricing
