Need Opinions on my RH choices

Ok so we pretty much settled on a budget tonight.. i've had great luck in finding photographers/video/and DJs that fit into it.. but as always reception halls are the hardest! These are the places i really like.. but we don't have a car right now so it's hard to travel... so before i go crazy asking people for rides or bouncing around on the LIRR id really appreciate some opinions. Here's my list....

Fox hollow
Swan Club
Chataeu Briand
Leonard's
Verdi's

Anyone have experiences to share about thier visits??? We are booking the church tom. night for November 7th of 08 ( a friday night) .. and i am hoping that some of these places can accommodate my budget of 11-13,000 total for the reception hall(after service and tax %) i figure that's about in the $55 - 70 pp range????...i'd really appreciate help before i go nuts...lol.
Thanks!!!! :) And congrats to all you fellow 08 brides!! We're GETTING MARRIED..WOOO HOO...lol

Re: Need Opinions on my RH choices

I'm a Fox Hollow Bride. I LOVE IT there. FM for details on it.

My brother got married at the Swan Club. It's gorgeous but I'm pretty sure he said it was super expensive. However, his best friend is getting married there this year and he said he got an awsome deal. I'm not sure what his details are, but i may be able to find out.

Friends have gotten married at Chatau Briand. I've heard great things but i've never been there myself.

CB and FH are both owned by the same people and both give you access to the Perfect Wedding Planner service which is nice. They have a great reputation, and the food is outstanding.

Re: Need Opinions on my RH choices

I only went to Leonards and they did have prices in your range for 08 . I have been there a couple of times and liked the place, food,&service but the only thing that I didnt like about it was, when i went to visit for possibly booking my wedding. There was a party in everyroom. People everywhere. I realized I didnt want a place with more than one event going on at a time. Otherwise its a nice place for a wedding.

Re: Need Opinions on my RH choices

You might also want to try Larkfield Manor. They have good prices.

I'm not sure if Milleridge Cottage fits in to that price range, I know it does for me, but, I'm on a Sunday in February.

I have to go to work, but, I do have their price info, so, FM me after 3pm if you want Milleridge info.

Re: Need Opinions on my RH choices

I got quoted $90 per head for a Saturday in August at Swan Club, so depending on day of week/time of year I'm sure you can get down in your range.

ALso, I've been to Verdi's 3 times - my cousin had her baby shower, bridal shower, and baby's christening there. It's nice there, but my only complaint is one of the rooms is in a basement, and the food was good at some of those events but only so-so at others.

Re: Need Opinions on my RH choices

The only place I’ve been on your list is Fox Hollow but I loved it—so I booked there! I’m not 100% sure about your price range, but I was quoted for a Saturday night during July. I’ve found everyone there very nice to work with, and I’m sure they could be flexible on some things!

I've only been to Fox Hollow. The place is gorgeous. The garden room is fanstastic and I have to have a min of 100 people on Friday night and 120 on Satruday night.

Re: Need Opinions on my RH choices

well some of those RH's are very different from eachother...I guess try to think of how you picture your wedding and the decor you would prefer

do you want marble w/ chandeliers, or do you want wood and more of a cozy type feeling

then narrow your choices and see which place gives you a great price and alot for your money, also which place you fall in love

Fox hollow
Swan Club
Chataeu Briand
Leonard's
Verdi's

I've been to all of those places and IMO Verdi's will probably be your best price. I've had a few parties there and there food is excellent, the BM there is such a nice guy and from what I've heard they did some renovations!

All the other places are also very nice but I think the best price you'll get will be from Verdi's.

I also second Larkfield Manor, I got a GREAT price for a Saturday night in May so I'm sure you'll get an even better price for a Friday in November!!!

A few other places that I've been to that I'd recommend for you within your budget...

Manor East in Massapequa
Sands in Lido Beach
Stewart Manor in Farmingdale

Feel free to FM me with any questions!

Re: Need Opinions on my RH choices

I have only been to Leonards out of the ones you listed. Its really nice inside, very fancy, but I dont think they have an outdoors for pics. Other ones that might interest you are the Westbury Manor and I heard Larkfield Manor, you can get really good prices for your month
