Need permit to take pics in Central Park?

I was under the impression it wasn't necessary, yet my photographer mentioned he's had a problem in the past with cops approaching him...what has been your experience, those of you that have had your e-shoots in the park?

We took our EPics in Central Park and didn't have a permit - didn't have any problems at all.

Otherwise, if your photographer is insisting on it - let him do the leg work to get it for you, or at least give you the information. Shouldn't be more than $20.

We just took our epic's yesterday at central park and we had no problems (we didn't have a permit as well). BTW the park looks so beautiful right now with the trees being in different shades of green, yellow and red. Can't wait to get my epics.

Honestly I think police would only hassel someone that obviously looks like they are a wedding party, e-party pics are casual, you are just a couple asking someone to take pics, i would chance it.

You do not need a permit to take pics in central park. Any other park or NYC landmark, i.e. Washington square park, granced central terminal, etc you do need a permit.

It depends on where in CP... For my quinceanera we went to CP for pics at one of the gardens and we had to get a permit. But I if its just around the park, not one of the gardens you should be ok.
