New wedding venue, now I need a caterer

As some of you know, I went to look at Bargemusic last week in the daylight and as I stepped on board I almost immediately felt sea sick! Soooo, I *think* I have decided on a new venue - the Brooklyn Society for Ethical Culture in Park Slope. We're visiting tomorrow. I went to a wedding there 4 years ago and loved it. Has anyone been there more recently?

Also, can anyone recommend a good off-site caterer? They have a preferred list, but for a smallish fee I can use anyone.

Phillip Stone Caterers is excellent. Give them a call! I have heard nothing but good things about the food and service. Plus the NY Times always gives a good review. This is who I am using.

gee, I have to admit I am relieved you didn't go with the barge I was concerned you would be sick on the big day. Sorry I have nothing to offer about caterers I'm just glad you won't be 'sea sick'.

Thanks Sasha, I'll call Philip Stone tomorrow. And Balilove, it broke my heart but I couldn't take a chance with my guests. Anyway, moving on....

Clueless: Im so excited for you...I live not far from BSEC!! Its a beautiful building! I used to work there when I was in High School.

Moveable Feast is a caterer that has worked there many times. The owner is a little ruff around the edges but I heard very good things about her.

Are you having it out in the lawn or inside?

PS: Im glad you skipped BargeMusic :D

I also live near there and I think you picked a great place to have your wedding!!!!
Do they have parking because if you are having a lot of guest that will be traveling by car this might be a concern.
