NWR - Quick! Your recommendation needed.

FH wants to decide where we're going for my b'day.
I want to go to Manhattan.

Please recommend a lounge or a great restaurant to go to in the city!! (and why you love it would help too )

Re: NWR - Quick! Your recommendation needed.

I absolutely love Umburto's (sp?) in Little Italy. We been there for my b-days in the past and we love it. If the weather is nice, you could sit outside. Then afterwards, you could walk around. There's china town or go to the village. I think the best bars are on the upper east side. There's also a TON of nice restaurants up there as well.

Good Luck, and happy birthday

Re: NWR - Quick! Your recommendation needed.

Two different types of places, but here they are:

Django 46th & Lex-I love the couches and chairs and the really great service. They have great wines and a nice tapas menu. They also serve dinner upstairs but I have never eaten dinner there. I checked the menu and it wans't over the top expensive.

Rainbow Room-

The have a nice subdued bar that serves a light menu and it overlooks the city. Very romantic. They also have a piano bar. Attached to that is a restaurant and I had dinner there about a month ago and it was really good (expensive). Dinner for two with bottle of wine was $200.

BTW-Happy b-day...go out and celebrate.

Re: NWR - Quick! Your recommendation needed.

Ilo at Bryant Park Hotel- awesome food (v. expensive though) also they have a reallty hip lounge that would be nice after dinner plus the park is nice and the proximity to times square...

I also love Va Tutto great food, the owner Laurie is great, really cozy, comfortable atmosphere, and reasonable prices.click for va tutto

Tabla- awesome if you like Indian food. Expensive, but beautiful atmosphere, cool bar, right across from Madison Square Park.

those would be my picks for a nice dinner out.

FM me if you have any further questions

Asia de Cuba is the BEST It's a fun, lively atmosphere, but if you're going tonight, you may have difficulty getting a reservation.

The Park on 10th and the West Side Highway is a fun place for dinner with a club upstairs.

For a romatic restaurant, I love Provence on Macdougal and Spring or Prince.

I have to second Va Tutto. The food there is delicious and it's very charming and romantic.

I'd also recommend Olives at the W Hotel in Union Square. It's very dark and hip-looking, the food is amazing. You can see the menuhere.
