nwr: anyone know a house engineer/inspector?

Hi, Does anyone know of a house inspector/engineer who does termite inspections etc who you felt was good? I need it desperately asap. I don't want to just pick a name from the yellow pages.

Re: nwr: anyone know a house engineer/inspector?

Hello bride2003
Is it inappropriate to recommend myself?
Check out my info in the Real Estate section of Wedding Services page. Contact me if you have any questions.

Whatever you do, make sure you find a licensed engineer not a home inspector !!!
Good luck.

Re: nwr: anyone know a house engineer/inspector?

I can recommend the engineer that inspected our house. He's in western Suffolk. I got his name from the president of the company I work for - they use him to inspect all their family and business properties.

Re: nwr: anyone know a house engineer/inspector?

Whatever you decide, I also recommend that you do a SEPARATE termite/insect/pest inspection of your home. Even a certified engineer can be wrong when it comes to termite damage and other wood destroying insects.

We did a separate inspection, and we are glad we did. Instead of treating for termites, we learned that [the seller] should treat for carpenter ants.

Good luck, and if you need a termite expert, let me know...I'm happy to recommend the guy we used!

Re: nwr: anyone know a house engineer/inspector?

I'm in agreement there. Our engineer said that there was no visible indication but that he too would recommend a professional do the termite inspection.
