NWR: Where to go for the BEST sushi?

Sorry for posting here, but I need to know, so I thought I'd come to the busiest board.

My friend from LA will be coming over in a few hours and she said she is craving sushi. My personal fave is Kotobuki in Babylon, but if there's some place even better, I'd love to know.

Ruby Foo on 49th is awesome. So is Yama Sushi on 2nd Avenue.

Our original intention was to go to the city (we both used to live there) but I twisted my ankle

so she's coming out here so we can keep it local.

Edited to say that if I was able to travel into the city, we'd be eating at Nobu Next Door--that was THE BEST sushi I ever had in my life!

My favorite place is Show Win in Northport! If you have a big group and call ahead they have these nice tables in the back the are inclosed. Pretty cool. Just wear clean socks because you have to take your shoes off. :)

I second Yama on 2nd Avenue. But if you are not going into NYC Kotobuki is my second choice--they also have a location on 347 in Hauppauge.

I have to say. My job has pretty awesome sushi. The sushi chef is straight from Japan with 20 years experience. Strike in New Hyde Park. Next to Lake Success shopping center.

Kohaku in Huntington is supposed to be really good. I don't eat sushi, but everyone I know who does, loves that place.

My favorite is Sumao, it is on Main Street in Bay Shore. SO good.. I live in MD, so it is always a treat to go there when I go home for a visit!!!

not too far from little neck right? In Queens. (do a search for them in yahoo yellow pages)

There was a bunch of us girls (out with our fellas) and they were taking a pic of us. Well someone backed up too far and knocked the glass partition down. It smashed into a million pieces and made one heck of a noise.
