Opinions needed
So I need opinions.Originally I was a Sept. 06 bride and then due to FH needing surgery we need a couple of months of postponing. I was afraid to get married in the winter due to the possiblity of cold weather, so we picked the next warmest month available which was May 2007.
However after seeing how it hasnt been too bad weather wise the past two winter months, I'm reconsidering choosing January. I know it will save us a lot of money on the cost per person.
So should I keep my May 20, 2007 date?
Or try for January/February date.

Jan/ Feb would save us money in the long run it would cost a lot less than what we're currently paying.
March I'd be more concerned with snow.

Re: Opinions needed
What about April? April is starting to get nice, you really do not have to worry abotu snow, it is close to May, but it is cheaper than May. Of course it is not as cheap as Jan/Feb, but it will save you some money. Two of my cousins got married the last weekend in April to get close to May weather at APril prices.Good Luck!

Re: Opinions needed
I don't think I would change it due to the fact that the weather this year may be great, but next year could be a horror. If it is a money issue then look into Jan/Feb, but if you are concerned about the weather then do not change it.

Re: Opinions needed
That's what we're doing!! We're the very last weekend in April and just missed peak prices. I think winter weddings are very beautiful too. Lately it seems like early winter isn't too bad but the worse weather comes more towards the later winter months.

my wedding is in Feb...we picked that date because of the cheaper prices..we figure that even if the weather isn't that great the people who want to be there to share our day will still show up no matter what

I think you would be fine if you picked an early week in January.

Re: Opinions needed
I would aim for the spring/summer, there is nicer weather and it would give you more time to save money

Re: Opinions needed
I booked an early January and figure aside from a Blizzard it should be good. Since I am planning everything to be indoors to begin with I wont have to worry about what if it rains. I would be really nervous with a spring wedding because you'd be tempted to plan for nice weather and then what if it rains. I am planning for okay weather and if its nice out all the better but it wont change my plans any if it does rain. Sorry so wordy.

Re: Opinions needed
If you can afford it and there is no penalties for changing go for it. Regardless we all have to consider weather.

Re: Opinions needed
I HATE the winter and always dreamed of a summer wedding. The only reason why I picked February was to save money... We calculated it and by having it in February we saved $10,000 on the reception alone and booked a band for half of what they usually charge. If you're on a budget, it might be worth considering. I am just praying it doesn't snow. ;) It's the low season and halls will work with you...Welcome New Vendors
