petal toss.....

we are getting married at the reception hall. The dining room will be divided in half by a partition, and the ceremony will take place there, then the guests will go to another area for coctails and back to the dining room

I would like a petal toss, or something similar, but don't know how to get to do it, especially if we will be using the room again for dinner

I really don't want the bells - I suspect people will ring them all night, which I just don't want

Does anyone have any creative suggestions. We are getting married by the water and I am trying to think of using that somehow......but I'm not coming up with anything

Re: petal toss.....

Can you have the petal toss during your recessional? The staff can clean it up during the cocktail hour.

Re: petal toss.....

what time is your party over? We did a rose petal fare well at the end of the day & In the Spring the weather would be warm enough. i don't have pictures of it yet.

We too got married indoors in a room that would be used again for the party, but I really wanted a toss for good luck( I didn't want bubbles or bells either) There was another wedding coming in after us & I really wanted to be out in time, plus my hubby wanted to make our getaway in his decorated truck with everyone watching. So the servers handed out little packages filled with silk rose petals with a sticker on the front that said
Rose Petal Farewell
Kelly and Rich
Meet us on the front porch at 5:00

Our Dj played the last dance a few minutes early & then coached everyone to come outside. It was great fun & made it easy for us to finish on time. We said goodbye to everyone at each table during cake.

I'm not sure if I explained it right, let me know if you have questions. Kelly

Re: petal toss.....

I am having the same situtation. I think I might put something in the programs that says please stay around for the petal toss bla bla and then afterwards run back out and jump into the horse and carriage and take a quick ride that brings us back to the cocktail hour or something. I really don't know.
