photo booths
I am not sure if this has been brought up or not- I tried searching and failed
My question is this- has anyone been to a wedding where they had a photo booth or one of those tables where you can get your picture in a cute (sometimes cheesy) frame? lol My parents went to a Bar Mitzvah last weekend and they had a DJ who also had one of those photo tables and my parents came home with a couple of really cure pics of themselves. I thought it might be fun to have one at the reception. Is it too cheesy? Better left for the 13 year old crowd?
also- how much does something like this run? Do you have them come for the entire reception or is it just for a couple of hours???
TIA!

Re: photo booths
I think my photographer wants 1.50 pp. I was thinking of doing that. I think it is a cool idea but out of our price range. We already bought the favors. I heard most use that as the favors.

Re: photo booths
that's what I was thinking- using that to replace favors. So you were told a per person charge? My parents got quoted 300/hour. I thought it was kind of high- no??

Re: photo booths
I think its a great idea! I almost went for it but then I was getting prices in the 4-5 thousand dollar range... which was way out of my league! Its a cute idea though, and the one bad thing I have heard about it though is that sometimes it is too much the center of attention, and usually at a wedding the bride and groom would rather the dancing be the center of attention.
Good luck!

Re: photo booths
I really wanted an old fashion photo booth at my wedding, but it is too expensive. If you can afford it I say go for it. Everyone I told the idea to, LOVED it!

Re: photo booths
the only thing that worries me about photo booths (besides the price!) is that you might have a situation where a ton of people will be on line waiting to take photos instead of out on the dance floor, watching you cut the cake, missing toasts, etc.i know at TWOTY they had a photo booth in a separate room and there was always a long line of people waiting to take pics in the photobooth (obviously it wasn't a real wedding, so that might not always be the case)

Re: photo booths
Check out the prices and see if it fits in your budget! I think its the kind of thing that will have people talking for ages! It's definitely on my list of things to check out in the last few months before when I have a better idea how far I have blown my budget!!!

Re: photo booths
I am starting to wonder if maybe I can find the photo table thing that my parents saw at the bar mitzvah instead of the booth. I see the point where people might be waiting on line instead of dancing. Lord knows I would be pissed if no one was dancing
I love our band and want everyone to love them as well
But maybe the table thing would work- people could kind of sign up ahead of time when they can go to take their picture, I wonder if this would actually work in a non chaotic manner??? I think I am just going to call the place and see if they have done weddings and if they actually recommend it. Thanks everyone for your opinions!!!!!!!

Re: photo booths
i think it's really fun. My cousin did this at his wedding. The went through NYCPhotobooth.... it was neat because the company provided a 'guest-book'....the booth would print out double copies of the photo strips...one for the people in the pic to keep(reading 'michael & marisa's wedding' & then the date), and then the other copy was to put in the guest book & then u could write a little message. It was really cute - and the book is something great to look back on. I will say the only draw back was that a lot of people were out taking photos all night, and there was always a line. BUT, i still like the idea. I actually did a poloroid guestbook that I had set up in the actual reception room. There are a bunch of websites that sell them if u'd rather do something like that. but either way it's a fun idea!

Re: photo booths
My cousin did it and it was so awesome. We booked it for our wedding...it was 1600 for 4 hours with unlimited pics and an attendent. Plus we are getting a custom scrap book where guests can give a strip of their pics to be mounted by attendent in book and they sign next to the pic....great guest book!

Re: photo booths
My FH said that he rembered the same price range-around 1.50 pp. I would not do hourly charge, they won't be motivated to move people along. FM for photographer info.Welcome New Vendors
