Pottery Barn Registry

My FH and I went to Pottery Barn this weekend to register. MY FH was against PB becuase he felt it was expensive and we shouldn't make our guest pay that much for the things we want. I said I was going to register at other places to give our guests a variety of options. Should I not register for the things I want to take into consideration other people?

Pottery Barn Registry

I think you should register for the things you want but I would also consider others. There may be a happy medium. They are the ones who are going to purchase things for you and you may get less because of the price point. Example if a spoon is $50 and a bowl is $100 that may be all you get from someone where as an entire set of bowls and plates could cost $150. You also want to maximize what you would get that way you don't have to go that much out of pocket that much for whatever is left over..

This! I registered for some things that I wanted even if they were a little overpriced. (for the most part my registry is very affordable and reasonable, no china or crystal) I figured that I could always use gift cards and the completion discount and get it myself if I really wanted it.

this! believe me i could go super overborad with items that i want..but im taking into consideration family members that wont spend $200 on a nice dish..so im trying to have things at all price points, this way people can chp in together and some people wont feel like they cant afford items, plus BBB always has coupons

Pottery Barn Registry

I registered at PB because I love their every day dishes. I didn't think they were super overpriced, and if people don't want to buy us stuff from there, we registered at Macy's and BBB also. We received gifts from all 3 places for our engagement party, so I guess it wasn't THAT expensive!

I have things at all different price points. Typically, when other friends of mine have gotten married, we've asked the bride what she wants most, and if it's out of our price range, we 'go in' on gifts. That way the bride gets what she really wants, and we don't have to live in a cardboard box because of it.

Pottery Barn Registry

I think some people just hear pottery barn and assume it's expensive, but if you look, a lot of their stuff is very reasonably priced. I'm doing macys and BBB for the coupon crowd (myself included!) but there are some things, that you just can't find anywhere
