Question about St Lucia
Since I have decided in my mind that I want to go to St Lucia for the HM, I have checked weather.com everyday and it seems like it rains there everyday. Has anyone gone there? This would be the time I will be there next year.Plus, how are the beaches there? I read the top 10 HM spots in Modern Bride magazine and it listed St Lucia as #5 but it wasnt known for its beaches.
Thanks!

Re: Question about St Lucia
Liberty Travel Also says:Best Time to Visit
Like all Caribbean islands, this is a year-round destination, with some seasons that are busier than others. The most popular time to visit is December through May, when the weather is at its best and the majority of activities are scheduled. The most relaxing time, however, is really from April-November, when the crowds are smallest.
PS Liberty Travel is one of my fav websites

Re: Question about St Lucia
I saw this on caribbeanway.com:The island experiences the majority of its rainfall in the summertime, when St. Lucia weather is at its hottest and most humid. Showers rarely last for long, coming in short, sporadic bursts.
Too bad I am getting married in June. I am starting to think twice...

When you say 'just got back', like within the last month? I am wondering if weather.com is wrong then...

Re: Question about St Lucia
My FH and I went to sANDALS rESORT AND gOLF spA in st. lUCIA about 1 1/2 year ago in January. It was beautiful and hot. It did rain for about 10 mins each day in e the middle of the day. It would be sunny, rain and the sun would come out again. We are going to the new Sandals resort for our HM. WE are pool people but all Sandals resorts have a private beach.

Re: Question about St Lucia
We went there last summer. Where are you staying? I ask because one side of the island tends to get more rain than the other (the locals told me that and it was true). And when it does rain - it is more like rain showers. The water was beautiful and the beach was fine. However, we spent most of our days at the pool, we loved lieing on the rafts floating all day with frozen drinks. You are going to have a great time! I wish I were going back soon.

We would be going to Sandals Grande, in Castries, I think.

Re: Question about St Lucia
I just got back from St. Lucia on Thursday. Hubby and I stayed at the St. Lucian Grande and yes...rainy season starts on June 1.It rains...no DOWNPOURS...for about 10 minutes and then stops. Even the cloudy days were beautiful!!!
The day we left it did rain all morning & we were told that it was going to rain all day long, so there is the possibility at this time of year, you can get some day rained out. It was GORGEOUS though...I love the island.
Good Luck!
I'll be posting a full review soon...haven't gotten a chance yet!!!

Re: Question about St Lucia
We went there last summer, the beginining of July- stayed at Sandals and loved it!Keep in mind it is a volcanic island, so the beaches won't be crystal clear and the sand won't be sparklin white.
It is also has rainforests, so slight sun showers mid day were common!
We loved it- good luck in your decision!

Re: Question about St Lucia
I've been there twice on cruise stops. Once in February, once this past April. Both times the weather was gorgeous and the beaches were great.

Don't worry. I've heard it's beautiful. I'm going in November. It rains in Hawaii all the time too but that's how these places stay so lush and beautiful! I've heard that if it rains it's rarely more than a few minutes. Welcome New Vendors
