? re: Invite Wording: TIME

I'm having the ceremony & reception at the same place. The ceremony is supposed to START at 11:30am, coctail hour at 12pm. Would you put 11:15am on the invites so everyone is there at 11:30, or put 11:30 and not worry about people not being there because they're late? Most weddings I've gone to, they always start 15 minutes late... TIA!

Re: ? re: Invite Wording: TIME

My wedding starts at the same time. We put 11:15 on the invite, just to be safe. I hate having to do that, people should be able to show up on time for things, but I don't want people missing the ceremony!

We also had a hospitality half hour at the reception hall before the wedding. Our invitation said 11:00 and the ceremony began at 11:30 a.m.

I had the same issue- my ceremony is at 11:30 at the same place as my reception. I called the catering hall and they said if i tell the people too early then some people will get there really early and end up leaving the reception early. SOOOO i put on the invitation that the ceremony begins promptly at 11:30. I figured that should cover it (by the way the catering hall said the ceremony usually doesnt begin exactly at 11:30- that is when they seat people)

Re: ? re: Invite Wording: TIME

My invite says 11:00, actual ceremony is 11:30. My hall does a reception with champagne and strawberries in the lobby area upon the guests' arrival. Plus this way hopefully everyone will be there for ceremony, some people are travelling 1 hr. plus.
