Seating Board Chart...Who did it? Any pics? Who's doing it? By who?

I saw that old post of girlygrl's seating board and it is awesome.
I would like to know if anyone did this & if they have pics or if anyone is planning on doing this & who is doing it for them???

I was thinking of doing it, but then decided to go with votive placecards.

There's a knottie on the Long Island knot board that actually makes these boards.

I'm doing them. They're pretty easy to make. And you can print them out at kinkos...they're usually glossy print mounted on foam core but if you're going cheap like me, i'm just getting regular print. The dimensions of the paper usually depends on the number of guests...but it's about the size of posterboard...

How will you display it at your hall? WIll you have it set up on an easel type thing?
I'm considering doing it as well but don't know how to display it. Help!

It will be on an easel next to the placecard table. We are doing votive placecards so if anyone has trouble finding their candle (they are a little hard to read) they can look at the easel. And I really do think the posterboard looks wonderful!

just keep in mind that you can't do last minute changes or additions once it's printed, which are easy to do with regular place cards

I was going to do this but alot of the LIW girls told me that when they did it, it caused alot of confusion because people were standing in front of the board and blocking the view of other people and kinda caused a traffic jam. So I opted against it and I'm doing picture frame placecards. I really wanted to do the votive placecards but JT doesn't allow it.

Awww, thank you.

for some of the comments made about the board.

1. Give yourself at least 2-3 days to proof read it to make sure there are no errors, they can print these super fast, mine was done in a day.

2. Yes b/c there may be some changes like addons that told you after you gave in your list have them print on the corner like I did- saying if you dont see your name on the list please see the maitre d. these boards are printed the very last week before your wedding so any problems with addons too can be added no problem

3. Nope, they put the easel so far up that everyone can see and it really depends on the font and the size of the font and its in alphabetical order actually much easier to see than to wait for people to get their cards so you can come to the table and get your card.

I am sooooo happy I did it instead of the cards. My guest loved it, something different and another edge to give your guest something to remember about YOUR wedding. Different touches go a long way! good Luck!

What is the best program to use to create a Seating board Chart and can I buy an easel at Kinkos or what is the best thing to prop it up for all to see? Thank you!
