Silk Wraps for Nails?
I am thinking of getting wraps on my nails for the wedding-actually a few months in advance in order to get used to them. I only really need them on my right hand, the nails on my left grow. The right hand is stubby
Do any of you get wraps, and do they destroy your nails? Do you think that a nail place will do wraps on only one hand? Finally, how hard are the wraps to maintain? I get regular manicures, but thats it- have never had tips or wraps.

Re: Silk Wraps for Nails?
I often wondered about this myself. I've had tips before, but I ripped them off in a day, I hated them so much. Then of course, my nails had that weird ridge thing going on for a month or two afterward. Are wraps like tips? If I can't stand tips, will I be able to deal with wraps?

Re: Silk Wraps for Nails?
I used to do my own silk wrapping. Depending on how fast your nails grow, you usually have to touch up near your cuticle area. Sometimes the wrap separates from the nail and you see a line, so you do a little more gluing and powdering (depending on how their done.) I plan on silk wrapping my nails too, since I can't stand tips either. I like having my own nails.

Re: Silk Wraps for Nails?
I get my nails done every two weeks, thats enough maintenance for them to always look nice IMO... I have silk wraps... personally, I would do them on both hands just because your hands won't match... they add a little thickness to your nail. Anything you do to your nails will 'ruin' them but any damage will grow out if you leave them alone. My nails are as weak and brittle as they've always been so I don't worry about damage. I've kept my nails wrapped for years. I usually take a break about every 2 years for a few months but I miss them too much so I always go back!

Re: Silk Wraps for Nails?
I originally got silk wraps for my wedding (the day before) your smart to go a few months before to get used to them. The silk ended up not working for me because it would seperate from the nail - and I switched to acrylic. But they are both the basically the same. I've kept mine for 8 months now and love them. I go every two weeks and they always look nice. Also the polish stays on for the full two weeks. I agree that you should probably do both hands, but since you are giving yourself some time, you can see for yourself the difference. Godd luck and enjoy!Welcome New Vendors
