Speaking of checks to Mr and Mrs - what if you don't change your name?

I dont' plan on changing my name and FIL will have heart palpitations if they learn this, this I am not telling them until AFTER the wedding. At any rate, if someone gives us a check to Mr. and Mrs. - will I be allowed to deposit it? Will I have to carry my marriage cert with me to the bank? We have a joint acct where the people know us and know we are getting married, so maybe it won't be a problem.

You will be fine. We got a lot of crazy combinations on our checks and the credit union cashed them all.

Just sign the name that the check is made out to and then sign your name underneath. Deposit it into your account and you will be all set!
