St Lucia Question

Danielle and I are leaving for our honeymoon on monday and we wanted to know how much spending money we should bring? We are going to Sandals Grande St Lucian and it is all inclusive...but we know we will need money for massages, and excursions and stuff...
Thanks,

We spent about $400 for 6 days. We went on a booze cruise, got massages, etc.

Re: St Lucia Question

I would bring $500 but you probably will not use that much of it. You can always charge anything else you spend!! I highly recommend the booze cruise. We really enjoyed it and make sure you stock up on suntan lotion before you go it is about $15 a bottle there Snorkeling was fun too though it was my first time and I got very nervous, but it was pretty!!

Re: St Lucia Question

We didn't really spend that much, I think $500 would be fine. Definately go to the spa and do the his & her massages, it was great. They also have some fun excursions you can do.

Have a great time!

Re: St Lucia Question

We went there also and had an AWESOME time! I would bring about 600-900 dollars with me. You may want to go on excursions and go do some souvenir shopping on the Island. Also, they have some great art on display and we ended up buying some. You never know what you are going to want!

Re: St Lucia Question

$500 for both of us? Does anyone know what the $21 is that is needed in the airport before you leave St Lucia? Someone told us that we will need $21 each before we leave...Is that true?

As for the suntan lotion, I am covered.....

The $21 is probably the departure tax. Most of the Caribbean charges you to get out of the country.

Re: St Lucia Question

Yup it is a departure tax. Why did I think it was a little more than $21, but around that. I also had to pay that when I left Costa Rica. Oh and don't forget to tip the baggage porter--- I kept hearing them saying that in my head for awhile.

Re: St Lucia Question

Just like a dollar or two, the guys at the airport. They are like the sky caps but they have a little chant that they do about tipping the porter.

No, we spent $400 total (tops) for both of us ... for rainforest excursions, a booze cruise, full body couples massages, a night out away from the resort, etc.

Honestly, I don't recommend going off the resort. I was nervous the entire time. People were trying to sell us stuff out of their cars. I enjoyed being on the resort more. There's really no reason to leave except to go on excursions. I loved the rainforest excursion. You will have a blast.
