Re: Syosset Cape - Starter home

My Aunt owned a home in Syosset. The tracks ran at the end of her backyard. You don't even hear then after awhile. I loved living there.

Re: Syosset Cape - Starter home

I lived in a house (rented) with tracks in the back yard and never really heard the train at all. If you are NOT near a train crossing the train wont even blow its horn so you wont even realize its going by a lot of the time. I ride the LIRR thru Syosset and most of the houses I see have decent sized yards and some have tall shrubs blocking the view of the track.

Re: Syosset Cape - Starter home

I lived in an apartment in college that was near the train (and not near a crossing) and it was loud as h e l l. I won't ever live close to a train again.
