That is terrible!

I can`t believe that clause was even written in the contract-even though it was crossed out. At least they got most of their money back.

wow thats a tough decision. I amso sorry this is happening to you. I can only imagine how upsetting it would be if I heard something that bad about my hall. I have heard some things here and there but this is bad. I am not sure I would cancel but I would definately want to sit down with them and make have some face to face reassurance that this was a fluke, big mistake and not going to happen on 'MY BIG DAY'. If you are so upset about this that us do decide to cancel, you better really get on it soon!!! best of luck...keep us posted jen

Egreen- I was thinking about you when I heard about it on the news. I agree with Jenny B. I think you should schedule an appointment with them right away and make sure this wasn't something that happens normally. I would also check into the BBB and see if they've had any complaints (other than this particular) in the past couple of years. I think you will just be more reassured if you go to them and speak with them. I'm pretty sure it was just a fluke - please try not to worry about it! I think honestly it could have happened to anybody, and I am seriously going to call my hall on a regular basis to make sure I'm the only one booked there that day (it's an only wedding at a time type of place). And who cares if it's annoying to them - we're paying them enough money!! The best of luck!! And try not to worry!!!!!!!

How Sad!!! Fireman's Fund Insurance for Weddings...

Tel# 1-800-ENGAGED. You can chose what you want it to cover, and it's not that expensive and it covers ALOT... We didn't get any--I prayed ALOT--but the insurance covers problems like the couples to storms that keep your photographers from making it to your wedding. They'll fax you the application and rates... Good Luck! Ayanna
