Time frame when your dress will arive

My dress is supposed to be arriving to the salon around the end of January. My wedding is in the beginning of March. I was hoping to have it at least 2 months before the wedding and be able to do fitting, try on and then hopefully have room for one more fitting, if needed. You never know, ya know? This 4-6 week time frame is not working for me. One month left to the wedding honestly, the last thing I want to be thinking about is where my dress is!! On top of the fact I have to go in and do the fittings..
When is your dress scheduled to arrive and how many fittings will you get?

Re: Time frame when your dress will arive

I took the poll on your other post because this one doesn't have the same choices. My dress is supposed to arrive on Valentine's Day and my wedding is May1. Hopefully not too many fittings (if at all) - the sample I tried was perfect & I ordered petite so I'm hoping the length is just right!

Re: Time frame when your dress will arive

Mine arrived November 8th & my wedding is Jan 9th. I already went for my first fitting, but it will not be completely done until 2 weeks before the wedding.

Note: (I decided to keep the Maggie once it came in for all of those following my dress drama. The Vera Wang didn't fit me too well ) Because I got a corset back, it does not need alterations like other dresses, only the hemline, the cups & the bustle, so had I gotten another designer, it might have taken longer for the alterations.

Re: Time frame when your dress will arive

Good question!! I am freaking out! MIne is supposed to ship from manufacturer January 15 to arrive 5 to 7 days later. I'm getting married February 21!! But I just got engaged late Sept. and ordered dress early Oct. Hopefully everything will work out okay. I've tried on my mom's dress as a back up!

Re: Time frame when your dress will arive

Usuk did the salon tell you when the dress was shipping from the manufacturer or did you call the man. yourself? I am tempted to call them myself (bridezilla kicking in) but I don't want to get in trouble.

Re: Time frame when your dress will arive

That's when the shop told me it would arrive. Was thinking of calling Casablanca myself...as I've heard bad things about the shop that I ordered my dress from. But I called to make sure they ordered it and they assured me that they had. You might want to call to get a confirmation number from them (the number the manufacturer would've given the shop when it was ordered)

Good luck!!

Re: Time frame when your dress will arive

I am going to try to call the manufacturer and see what they say. I would be okay with 2 months. But not 4-6 weeks. That is just way too close...

Re: Time frame when your dress will arive

My dress came in 3 months before the wedding but I didn't have fittings until 6 weeks before. The salon days and hours were inconvenient for the fittings otherwise it was not a big deal.
