TRADING SPACES - Saturday night eppy

did anyone else see the live reveal eppy on Saturday night? What did you think?


I thought the room that Doug did was ok...and I liked Hildi's room but she did not take into consideration that her Home Owners (HO's) was a pastor and his wife before she put up like 4000 wine labels on their walls. Im glad the neighbors told them that the wine rack was going too far!


This show is really getting to me. I used to love to watch now when I watch i sit on the edge of my seat hoping that they wont do anything outragous and upset the HO.

I agree. I thought they did some background and met the hone owners before they started redecorating. How can you put wine labels all over someone's kitchen if they are a pastor and don't drink. The homeowners were really nice about it. It was funny how the other team came over with a steamer to get them off.

Wine labels..HORRIBLE!
What made her think that would look good??
She is really getting bad..she just wants to shock people!

She did not listen to the homeowners AT ALL! Not only did she use wine labels as wall paper - but the homeowners said that they wanted something bright with lighter colors and she goes and paints the cabinetry black!!! She obvioulsy does what she wants - her motto should be Owners Beware!

I felt really bad for them with the wine labels. I think they should let the neighbor's have more say in the rooms.

I definitely thought it was rude of Hilde to decorate with something that the homeowners were against (drinking obviously and this wasn't just a preference of liking blue to yellow), but I kind of liked the kitchen anyway!!!

I can't stand Hilde. Did anyone ever see the episode where she put hay on the walls? The HO wanted a room for the kids to play in and she put hay on the walls. Her answer was the kids would just have to learn to not eat the hay.

Love the show, but can't stand some of the decorators.

here is an official word from the TLC website...

TLC experienced a technical failure during the midnight (late night) repeat airing of the Trading Spaces live reveal on Saturday, Jan. 18. The problem occurred out of TLC's originating facility and interrupted the final segment of the program during the East Coast feed. We sincerely apologize to all of our viewers who were inconvenienced by this interruption. TLC will reair the program in its entirety at 10 p.m. (ET/PT) on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2003 (tentative). We hope you will check the Web site to confirm the date and time later this week. [b]

I saw the live reveal but the kitchen with the wine labels wasn't it...and honestly, it wasn't a big deal at all, both sets of homeowners loved their rooms. I liked Doug's walls though with the plaster and wax, it came out really cool looking.

You are right stacdz...I saw 2 shows that night and the wine label on was the earlier show...my mistake...but still the room that Hildi did was a little too much...the bedroom that Doug did was beautiful!!! I would love to do that plaster on my walls like that!

Lisa, Hilde's room you mean the room that was 'inspired' around that picture with the orange floor and bright fabrics? Yeah it was pretty ugly. I would love to do what Doug did on that wall too....a lot of work though!!!
