UPDATED!!!!!I never complain about my BMs.... A quick vent about my sister (MOH)

The BMs picked out the dress in March. 3 of them asked if we can wait 1 month to order because they wanted to try to lose some weight before being measured. I called everyone and said I would go with them, even if I had to go 6 times. So 3 of them ordered their dresses in April. My 2 cousins just ordered in the beginning of May. There is only one person left, my sister. She keeps saying "Oh I am going tomorrow" but she is not going! I have been calling her every day and she is not answering my calls and claims she never got my messages. This is her typical behavior. I just left her a message that if she doesn't order by Saturday then she is out of the wedding because I am having the order placed on Saturday

It sucks, but sometimes you have to get bold! I think you handled it fine. Maybe she'll get over to the store and you won't even have to worry about it. Didn't she just get married too? Not to defend her, but she may be really busy adjusting to her new life, too.

Is this the same sister that got married recently? If so, you would think after having gone through planning a wedding she wouldn't stress you out.

I know, you hardly complain about anything, so this msut be bugigng you.
You'd think she'd want to be extra nice & helpful since you were her MOH too.
( I'm assuming you didn't pull this crap )

You could estimate & order for her since she is your sister, but that's being awfully accomodating.

I just emailed my MOH for her measurements
--- I have a a feeling this is going to take a while.

worse comes to worse order her a size bigger than what she normally wears and then she can make the alterations. at least it will give you piece of mind that a dress has been ordered.

Is this the same sister that just got married herself? Not that I am condoning her behavior, not at all....but maybe she is still wrapped up in her wedding and not ready for yours yet. Try to reason with her about it.

I would just go and order the size that she normally wears or one just a bit bigger.

my sister was the biggest form of stress fo me to but i think you just have to take them with a grain of salt. im sorry your going through this maybe if you explain that you were there when needed for her wedding she will realize that she isnt being right and well go asap and order her dress

Wow, you threatened kicking her out of the wedding.... that's deep. If she's not a dependable person, I'm surprised that you asked her to be the MOH. However, it's understanding because she probably has been your best friend for as long as you remmeber.

In reading the other posts, I noticed some say that she just got married herself? Not sure if your sister is like this... but maybe she's jealous? I've heard that a lot of brides go through post-wedding depression... not trying to defend her (either), but maybe she's adjusting to her new lifestyle, and envious of you still being in the bride-2-be stage? I remember you mention that you want to be the bride forever... maybe she's jealous that attention is not on her anymore?

I finally got through to her and she is going tonight.
Yes... she is the one who recently got married. I don't think her wedding has anything to do with this. Here is some background on my sister. She has always been very spoiled and she waits for the last minute to do anything. In fact, for her wedding, I had to (the DAY before the wedding)pick up all of her flowers for her (they were silk), buy her socks and clothes for the honeymoon (because she lost all of her socks?), go with her to buy bubbles and a basket. She picked up her dress 15 minutes before the rehearsal dinner. Then she made me leave the rehearsal dinner early because she forgot where her veil and tiara was (she thought maybe she left it at the salon) so I had to go back to my moms house and find everything. Then the day of the wedding she decided to buy table cameras. I worked that out for her also (I sent our brother, and gave him money to pay for them). I also booked and paid for her make-up and hair. She is only 21 years old and very immature and irresponsible. So yes she is recently married but I see that as all the more reason she should be doing good for me after all I did for her.

She just called me all happy and cheery, she got fitted and ordered her dress. It is not because she is stressed or any other reason other than she is LAZY. I guess my message worked because she got it done, and she didn't even say anything about my message (like she was mad or anything) because she knows I am right.

Good for you!! I Hope she can get a little more collected and help you out with stuff..sounds like you had a lot take with her!

I don't expect her to help me out. That is just the way she is. We are 2 very different types of people but we did grow up together and have been through a lot together. I don't expect her to be the best MOH... just order the freakin dress!

I had the exact same problem w/ my sister (MOH), we still both live at home and she is 2 1/2 years younger than me and finally I had to get my mom involved and she forced her to go. Can't you just feel the love and support

It could be that party planning interests her, so she will get involved & be excited to do so, but everything else, she sees as just chores.

Sometimes our siblings just take us for granted. My younger brother is the same way....his priorities are a little more lax towards me, since I am his sister...but if his GIRLFRIEND says JUMP! HE says HOW HIGH SWEETIE???
They know that you will always forgive them no matter how mad you get....

I'm glad in the end it worked out, Julie .. but I"m sorry you had to go through this stress. It seems that everyone of us has at least ONE BM and/or MOH that drives us crazy.

It tough b/c it seems like you do EVERYTHING for your sis and this simply isn't reciprocated (she's definitely the stereotypical "little sis", right?)

Hang in there .. thank goodness the rest of your BMs seem a lot more helplful!!

For some reason I was under the impression that your sister was older.... I'm sorry. Anyway, I'm glad things worked out. I too know what it is like to deal with a spoiled sister.... and I already stripped the MOH title from mine.
