Wedding Gift Q

Invited to another wedding
Saturday night next month, she is a friend from law school. Really surprised I got invited, and I do think I was on the B list, because I did not get a 'save the date' especially since I know one other person that did. I dont mind, and I'd like to go with hubby. I wasnt invited to the shower either.
She has a registry at BedBathBeyond.

My question is are you supposed to give gifts from the registry only for bridal showers?
Can I buy two things off the registry and send them to her place, and just give a card on the wedding?
Or do you think I should give cash (is that more appropriate), if so, how much for two?
I will be seeing this person often next semester! but at the same time, weddings are becoming expensive

Thanks

Re: Wedding Gift Q

Personally, I'd give cash. It's not wrong to give a physical gift at a wedding, but I wouldn't.

As for how much, always only give what you can afford, no matter what it is.

Where is the wedding? You said it's Saturday night? I'd probably give $150- $200 depending on how much I had to give and because it sounds like you are not very close with the bride.

Wedding Gift Q

I would also give cash as a gift. Just got married and every guest gave cash. I have never given less than $300 as a gift, but alot of guests at my wedding gave $100 per person/$200 per couple. Younger guests gave more. Give the amount that you feel comfortable with and can afford.

Wedding Gift Q

Definitely cash! It was annoying to have to carry my own stuff from the wedding plus the gifts.
