Which is Best Cruise Line?..

I've been a few cruises, but they were all on the Grand Princess (Princess cruises)

I've posted a lot recently about vacation getaways, can you tell that I need a vacation,

Which ones does everyone else like?

Re: Which is Best Cruise Line?..

Well, I have been on three Carnival cruises. I personally would not recomend them. I have heard that Royal Carribean is a good one.

Re: Which is Best Cruise Line?..

we did carnival and had a great time. but needed more couples/younger people. Heard royal car, can be more older people.

I also heard to be careful if you do a long cruise (2 weeks), because the only people who can take that much time off are retired, old.

Re: Which is Best Cruise Line?..

It's really personal choice, each cruiseline is known for something different

You will probably have more fun with clubs and stuff on carnival but you will probably get a little better food on celebrity, things like that vary.

Hope this helps.

Re: Which is Best Cruise Line?..

I've been on
Royal Carribean, Holland America and Celebrity.
The first 2 happened to be brand new ships, so we were totally in AWE of the ships. The Celebrity ship we went on was much older (1998?) so it was a little of a letdown to see the HUGE difference from new to 'old'. I would say the food on RCC was decent, not outrageous. HA had an older crowd (retired), but we didnt know ahead of time, and we had the greatest time. We met the nicest couple who we still keep in touch with today. I think the service, the order of best to worse was HA, Cel, RCC. I wouldnt bash any of them. We had a great time on all three.
My SIL just got back from a Carnival cruise and had RAVE reviews. LOVED IT.
We like to try different ships every time, so Im looking forward to the next one. We plan to try Carnival.

Re: Which is Best Cruise Line?..

We loved Carnival. The only thing we feel they should improve on would be their food. It was good but I guess we had higher expectations.

Re: Which is Best Cruise Line?..

Honestly, I think the new-ness of the ship is a tad more important than the cruise line. A newer ship just has a lot more to offer...so keep that in mind.

Ive cruised with Carnival, RCCL and NCL. I would recommend Carnival or RCCL.

Re: Which is Best Cruise Line?..

I have ALOT of friends and family that cruise regularly (although I have to admit I never have) and they all say Royal Carribean is the best by far, however, Carnival's fun ships are supposed to be good too because they have a younger crowd.

Re: Which is Best Cruise Line?..

Celebrity all the way! They are the top of the line in the category of RCCL, Princess etc - if you enjoy princess you should like celebrity - everyone I know who has gone on princess then celebrity has loved celebrity

Re: Which is Best Cruise Line?..

I agree with the others that first you should choose your destination and then see what ships sail in that region/area. We cruised on Royal Caribbean to Bermuda - that ship was older and I was not terribly impressed. The food was however decent, and the activities plentiful. Service was excellent. The people we dined with said Holland America was classier. I've heard great things about the food on Celebrity. But, I think you cant go wrong with Celebrity, Royal Carib., or HA. The new Carnival ships look nice too.

edit to say - Bermuda however is GORGEOUS. I would try Celebrity to Bermuda because they port in Hamilton and St. Georges - the 2 better ports. RCCL stopped in Old Navy Dockyard (kind of lame ) and Hamilton.

Re: Which is Best Cruise Line?..

I have been on been on many Carnival cruises and all have been great. I highly recommend them and one of the main reasons I like them is because it's a little bit more 'casual' than the other lines.

I went on Princess and loved it. And my parents go on Celebrity every year and rave about it. I think though Celebrity is a little to stuffy for me though.

We just booked Royal Car. for this Feb. and from what I hear they are great as well. We'll be going on a brand new boat (first sailing is this august).

Like someone said above I think the most important is the newness of the ship rather than the cruise line. Make sure you like the ports they are stopping at and all the ammenities the ship offers.

Good luck!!!
