My opinion would be to invite him, and if you can though not as important, his wife. In the end, they might not show. We invited our priest and he politely declined.

try calling woodbury c.c. and set up appts with their studios. you should check out these house people first. they have the experience shooting stills at the club, and would probably be very competitively priced for your needs.

Hi, Try Dante in Westbury. Ask for Mike(owner). He hooked us up with a nice package and we shopped around. I would say avoid zeller. Ive heard from on this board and seen 1st hand by going there what a joke they are. We couldnt even see any styles to try out. It was all to be picked from a book. Mike took the time to let us play dress up for about 1 hr before deciding what we wante. We found them online at www.dantetux.cjb.net Good luck., Lisa

An experienced photographer can adjust to just about any environment. It really isn't necessary to limit yourself by thinking that way. I've worked @ Woodbury CC several times + it really is an easy venue. Feel free to choose your photographers based on your preferences. That should be most important. (and remember that house vendors pay for the priviledge, either with kickbacks or a large sum of $ or both)

Good luck, Mark

Hi Nicole: You can choose any photographer you wish. Most of them know the Long Island venues. If the hall has a house vendor that you are comfortable with and you love his work, then that's a big plus for you because he does know them and they have worked together. But like I said, most vendors have worked at most of the wedding halls on long island so they know them. If the photographer at the your hall is less expensive than going outside, than do it! Don't worry about kick-backs or whatever; you'll still get a great price. The kick-backs don't involve you anyway. If you are getting a great price with a great photographer, go for it! I had my photographer do a few test shots for me. Pay for a shoot and get an engagement picture done. That will also help with your decision. Good Luck

Our BM lives in Seattle, WA. He went to a tux shop out there, called us with the measurements, we gave the measurements to Flowerama & they ordered one for him. He arrived in town 2 days before the wedding. He was fitted, minor alterations were done in a day and looked quite dashing in time for Saturday! :)

Our cost per tux - inc. shoes, cufflinks, sales tax etc. - was $145 each. Yes, you CAN get it cheaper...But Paul really liked the staff (clearly knowledgable!) & the quality of the material....and since I spent over $1200 on my attire for the day, I figured spending another $50 to make him feel good was certainly worth it!

I love the test shot idea. I think it is really worth the $ to do some engagement photos as a trial run. We are planning to arrange that once we find a photographer.

Thanks for the note.

Concetta's poem idea is GREAT!!! After you read it over the microphone, perhaps you can frame a copy of it so that it becomes a keepsake for Dad.
