Anyone ever been to Austin, Tx?

DH and I have a wedding there next month (day before easter!), and i'm trying to figure out if it's worth to stay another 2 days since we're already there. The wedding is Sat night.

We're flying in Friday (either am or pm, depending on if we stay) and right now are leaving Sunday. For an extra $75 - $175 (depending on Fridays flight time) we could stay till Tuesday. DH is afraid there's not going to be anything to do there worth us staying another 2 days.

Thoughts?

ive never been. but its a major city in tx. i cant imagine there being NOTHING to do....

i would just stay and explore.

I love Austin! I was there last Sept and the Sept before that. There's a nice nightlife and the food is soooo good! It's a total college town, so it's young and trendy all over the place with a little cowboy western feel. I love it.

If you go, you MUST check out this BBQ Place
It's located in a gas station! The meat is fall off the bone amazing! DH and I found it on tripadvisor and we couldn't believe how good it was.

I've never been but i have friends from there and they say that Austin is the 'coolest' city and ONLY city they'd ever live in in Texas. It's a great college town, lots of things to do at night and cultural events...i'll ask them for u.

I was there a looooong time ago (did a summer program at the University of Texas in Austin).....the city is known for live music and great bars! I would totally extend the trip!

i havent been to austin but its a major city so im sure theres stuff to do. we were just in dallas in february and now want to move to TX within the next few years
