BRIDE- TO -BE - >crescent beach club / lands end

i really don't like posting (and never have) on this board because it was created for newlyweds not brides-to-be, so please accept my apologies. i just wanted to ask the advise of those that have been there done that. we really want a reception site on the water. not only overlooking the water, but right on the beach. the 2 places that i have looked at are lands end and the crescent beach club. the crescent is right on the water, lands end overlooks the water. just wanted your opinion and experiences (if you have) w/ these places. my FI hasn't seen either, but is not thrilled about the idea of the restaurant at the crescent being open during the reception (doesn't bother me). i really like the idea that anyone can take a stroll on the beach at anytime during the reception. please help! any other suggestions for a beach reception site is welcomed. ceremony is at our lady queen in centerport. i am sure this is the last thing you want to be thinking about, but your input is greatly appreciated.

thanks again

Dani...A friend of mine got married a few years ago at the Crescent Beach Club, and it was beautiful. She also had the ceremony there. As for the restaurant being opened at the same time, I didn't even realize that there was one! As far as I remember, the food and service were great, and what a view!!!

thanks again

I sort of agree

I don't mind helping out, but I hope this doesn't turn into a Q & A board.

Wow - thanks for the info. Your posting provided me with more info than I found on the web!

We were considering Sandals and am glad you commented. Can you elaborate on what parts were overrated?

This is really annoying...

Actually, I kept my questions on the B 2 B site. As you know, all of us newlyweds still check the Bride site just for that purpose. So, no, I didn't post questions on this side. Besides, this side wasn't even here before I got married...

I am glad it is here now, but it defeats the purpose if brides to be are asking questions on this side. If the Newlyweds want to answer questions they should answer them on the Bride to Bride side...not here.

There is a transition period. Be patient. Try and remember who you (both of you) were before the big day & recapture that life. Sometimes the answers to the hard questions can be found by going back to the basics.

Then I guess you never offer advice to the newlyweds???? I guess you never check their site? When you were getting married you never asked a/the newlyweds any questions? You never asked anyone with experience for advice? Give me a break!!!!

if you read my post correctly i began by saying: i really don't like posting (and never have) on this board because it was created for newlyweds not brides-to-be, so please accept my apologies. never thought i would get the response of 'this is really annoying' i did not send the email directly to you, nor did i ask you to respond. just thought i would throw the question out and if it applied to someone, then they would respond. you could have ignored the post instead of responding so negatively.

Newlywed 3 - you are obviously not a newlywed! *NM*

Dani, the reason Lisa W. responded is she remembers what it was like to be a bride to be. Everyone needs help time to time and now that she's married she doesn't think that she's above answering questions. To the girl that said this is really annoying seeing your posts.....She doesn't own this board and if she doesn't like you posting than she doesn't have to read your questions!!!!

I'm thinking of making a coupon book spelling out VALENTINE, with coupons like,
Valid for a back rub

thanks for your support. i value the advise that 'some' of the newlyweds offer because you have been there done that and still have the time and desire to help us brides-to-be with our wedding planning dilemmas. i appreciate your friendly post. it makes me wonder why people are so bitter and hostile. you are newlyweds, isn't it supposed to be a time of happiness and bliss? well i guess for some it is!!!

thanks again

No harm

Dani: I don't think that anyone here doesn't want to help you ladies. We've helped in the past and have no problem with it. It just seems lately that there have been many questions on places, etc and this board might end up looking like the bride to be board. I don't think anyone means harm in it. I do go to the other board before coming here and try to help. I think the other newlyweds do as well.

thanks again

Ypu are right...I have been there and done that...now I am here asking questions about being a NEWLYWED...which is what the board is for. Did you miss the facts that it is called 'FOR NEWLYWEDS ONLY'? If I want to answer bride and wedding questions I will answer them on the Bride site...

Well you'll have to forgive me than Ms. Newlywed without a name. I thought this was supposed to be a happy time. I won't come and invade your private board anymore. Just one thing, you should take it as a compliment that brides to be value your opinion since you've already been in their shoes. I'll leave your exclusive for members only board now!!!!!
Things do slow down and I don't think that can really be avoided.. But personally I would much rather this than be in the wedding planning process.
Also maybe you can plan your weekends in advance and think of good ideas and talking to him about it.
