cute story

So as you may or may not know, I have something called Fibromyalgia which is a nerve disorder that causes chronic pain. I was diagnosed with it a 1.5 years ago but have been dealing with it much longer.

DH has stood by my side and been incredibly supportive through all of this. Luckily, I found a treatment that has been helping and my symptoms have improved.

DH is an elementary PE teacher and has a track team. This year he joined the National Fibromyalgia Association and decided he wanted to do a little more with it. He had the kid's track team t-shirts printed up with the FM Aware logo on the back and yesterday he gave the shirts to the kids and explained to them a little about what FM is and why he wants them to help raise awareness (there are such little studies about diagnosis and treatment, it is still very early).

After his explanation one of his 3rd graders came up to him and said 'I'm so sorry your wife is sick. Can you call her and tell her that I said I hope that she has a good day today?'

When he callled to tell me that, I burst into tears!


And then today another kid came in and said to DH 'I was thinking about what you told us yesterday and I want to help out more.' He handed DH a check for $180 to donate to the association! DH was speechless and said that he was choking back tears!

Anyway, just thought I'd share some nice things since some not so nice things are happening in my life right now.

wowwwwwww. that is so encouraging and wonderful!

and im really happy to hear the current treatments are working!!!!!!

there is so little information out there about FM, b/c in the past most doctors didnt take it seriously. hopefully with more funding/research/awareness things will get better!
