dilemma- what would you do?

i am studying to take an exam... i thought the test would be easy, so i volunteered to do it. When i got the boook I had a heart attack. its SOOO HARD! I've been studying here and there but im not retaining everything.. so im discouraged.

what would YOU do?

take exam in MAY in Atlantic City
1- im comfy with AC, but, i may not be 100% ready for this test.
2- its a shorter bus ride

or

take exam in July in Boston
1-im NOT comfy with boston. Im not familiar with the city and i will be alone...but i will have a few more months to prepare
2-long azz bus ride

fees- registration fee, exam fee, hotel for 4 days (my boss will be paying)

but what if i fail? he will spend over $1,000 so i can come back to work and say 'i failed'

Personally - I would do Boston and take a friend or DH with me.

id go to boston. longer bus ride = more time to study!

and then after the test you can explore.

i get depressed exploring on my own.

and i dont want to bring dh or a friend. i will get distracted

Could you take it twice? Maybe take the one in May and if, worst case scenario, you do fail you can re-take it in July?

Are you actually going to be exploring????? Aren't you going up to take the test? My guess is you wouldn't have much time to explore anyway, because you'd want to be focusing on the test.

Also, why not drive up yourself? It's only a 3-3.5hour drive if you drive yourself and not take the bus.

if you take in in Boston in July, would the 2 extra months actually help you out? If so, i'd go to Boston

when's the deadline to register for the test? maybe you can keep winging it?

I would go to Boston. First of all, if you aren't been, why not go when someone else is paying for it. Second, you have more time to study and you won't be as stressed out. Sounds like you REALLY want to go to Boston the only thing holding you back is that it's far and you'd be alone. Both can be fixed. Flights to Boston can be found cheap OR you have more time to study and relax on the bus with last minute cramming AND take someone with you. Boston is amazing and in July it's perfect to walk around!

i'd do everything in my power to take it in may ... may is a month away ... that's plenty of time to study, no? plus, just get it over with and enjoy the summer!

I would study my arse off until May and take the test in AC. I wouldn't be able to study into July. If I chose the Boston option, I would put off studying until the month before anyway. Plus you aren't comofrtable with the Boston option. Go for it in May. There are a lot of smart cookies on here that i am sure will be able to kelp you study.
