Wanna hear something ABSURD?!?!

I went in to a fancy pants tailor on the upper east side to pickup a bridesmaid dress that I had altered (I had to have it taken in up top - I've come to the realization that I have small boobs) and I inquired about the wedding dress preservation prices...

THEY START AT $600 bones!!!!!!!!!! I would have paid money to have a snapshot of my expression in response.......

It is ABSOLUTELY laughable!!! I made some snide comment under my breath as I was walking out.....which is NOT my style....but I couldn't believe it.

Mind you, that is their BASE price! I explained my dress was all lace and she went on to roll her eyes and remind me that was their 'base'.....that all lace would be far more expensive to preserve. BITE ME.

WOW! It cost DH $200 to have mine presereved at the local dry cleaner! Still expensive but n othign compared to your price quote!

Really silly question here - but what does dress preservation do? Is it when it then stays nicely put in a box for years to come?

Mine's also hanging in the closet, ready to be trashheeed in a few weeks lol
