finally gonna do it this weekend .... UPDATE: i did it (with pics)

finally gonna do it this weekend .... UPDATE: i did it (with pics)

i'm finally gonna go get my NW chop this weekend

problem is, i want to go into a place and tell them to do whatever they want ... i don't want to tell them what style to cut (because i tend to always go for the same haircut and i think it's time for a change)

so does anyone have a good salon that would do this without making me look like a clown? preferably someplace in LI (Farmingdale area, if possible) that won't charge me a gazillion dollars for a cut.

UPDATE:
I went to Hair Effex on Saturday and FINALLY got my NW chop ... i have no idea how much they cut ... at least 5-6 inches ... i told the lady (Janine) to just do whatever she wants, but that i don't want super-short hair cause DH will kill me lol

Salon Alibi in NYC (sorry, not LI)!

Ask for Koby! Appt will be around 100 (I bought products both times I got my haircut by him so I don't know exactly how much the cut itself was...I just asked the receptionist to put 20% gratuity)...

Added bonus: they serve free wine and give you TONS of massages...head/neck/hands...

I go to a salon in Malverne. I pay $70 plus tip for a cut, dye and a blow out

I'm thinking of going here. I've never gotten a 'high style haircut'. I've always walked in and said 'please do this'. I want someone else to think and come up with what would be best. Just gotta get the guts to do this and decide how short I'm willing to go.

Jen at hair effex. shes in bellmore. i LOVE her, took her a long time for me to find someone that i like. not sure what a cut is, but i pay $90 for highlights cut and blow. so im sure its much cheaper.

ETA: i just called for you, my girl charges $40

I use Mary at Salon di Domini...(Copiague - so not far from Farmingdale!)

she's great - did my NW chop and I love it!!

Best part is...hair cut w/her is only $27!!!!

@Heather - that place sounds AMAZING but i'm waaaay too lazy to go into the city solely for a haircut Thanks anyway though

she did!!! she posted a pic on fb

(another reason to join fb, heather!)

she said she cut of 5-6 inches... she had really long hair before so its still long but she got cute layers and what not.

its tres chic.

I go to hair effex to but I use Maria. No matter where I live on LI I will always travel to them. Plus Im scared noone will ever get my color like Maria does. I have to make an appointment to get my chop im so done with my long hair.
