First Year Anniversary

Soooooooo, what's everyone doing? Done? I wanted to get tickets for DH & I to a show and then have dinner somewhere in the city, or rather have dinner before the show. A friend just asked me if DH & I wanted to go see Jim Jeffries at Caroline's on Friday, May 13th. I asked DH what his thoughts were and he said 'Hmmm that date sounds familiar, we might be busy.' in allusion to our anniversary. Now, I know him. I KNOW him. I know he didn't book anything. I know he has nothing planned, despite whatever thoughts he was rolling around in his head. But what the eff do I do? Do I still get him tickets? Maybe for the next weekend just in case? What the hell else paper can I get him? And I know it doesn't really matter if it's paper, but still... I wanna at least try for it. Besides I don't have any other good gift ideas to give instead.

Re: First Year Anniversary

money's made of paper

You can always do a non-paper gift and add an 'anniversary coupon book' (with a 'coupon' for you to give him a massage, a , cook / buy his favorite meal, etc)

Where are you guys going? He mentioned wanting to go away for the weekend but it would have to be something cheap and close.

As for , he gets those regularly enough that it's not special. His gift was SUPPOSED to be b-pics album but he messed that up by intercepting the mail!

And yupp, Jim Jeffries at Caroline's! May 13-15 (Fri-Sun), $35 + 2 drink minimum!

Re: First Year Anniversary

we are staying at a B&B on the north fork. i am sooooo excited!

since your anniversary is later, i would even suggest getting a hotel in riverhead then taking a wine tour trolley/bus thing if you want. i was looking into this at first to save money, but they dont run during the week until may.......

Hmmm I'll look into it. He totally blindsided me with this wanting to do something for it all of a sudden. I asked him about it back in January and he didn't wanna do anything.

And Roz, I hear ya. Dan doesn't know yet that I'm taking him to Jamaica in September for his 30th b-day so I'm okay with just dinner, no gifts even, but I know he'll get me something and then I'll feel bad.

Re: First Year Anniversary

DH and I are going to Cancun the week before our anniversary. Technically it's for a friend's 30th bday, but since it's the week before I'm saying it's for her birthday AND our anniversary, lol. Other than that, probably just dinner.

Re: First Year Anniversary

I am taking DH to St. Thomas for a week in June to celebrate our anniversary.
On the actual day I have a bridal shower so we are just doing dinner & having the top tier of our cake.
