Has anyone stayed at the Allegro in Aruba?

Has anyone stayed at the Allegro in Aruba? I've heard mixed things about it - is it really worth it to go all inclusive?

Has anyone stayed at the Allegro in Aruba?

Yes. I actually just posted about it on the Birides site, but here is the skinny. We went in Sept & stayed for a week. That, in our opinion, was a good amount of time. Any more and you risk getting bored. The hotel is nice, the service is good. Very clean. We did the all inclusive, and it worked out very well. Eating out in Aruba is pretty expensive. There are plenty of food options to choose from. You can pretty much eat at any time of day. At least one restaurant is open. We ordered breakfast in bed every morning. It was great just to get some coffee, but the buffet breakfast was much better, so we would do that as well. The grand ballroom (I think that`s what it was called) was ok. You can skip their shows, which are lip synched and pretty cheesy. Although worth a stay for the laugh. The trivia night, however, is not to be missed. It`s like bingo. Very funny. There is an Italian restaurant which was nice and the tradewinds, outdoor restaurant which has burgers & such during the day, but has a night menu with very good food. The kind of food you remember for years. There's also a casino in house. The drinks are watered down. I guess that may be the curse of all inclusive. If you drink wine and beer, you`ll have nothing to worry about, and since it`s all inclusive, you can drink as much as you want. We`re not big drinkers so it didn`t bother us. All in all, we had a great time. We were upgraded to the penthouse suite, jacuzzi in the room, room length balcony overooking the ocean, the whole nine yards. The beach is very clean, the water is warm and calm. Beautiful sunsets. There is also a pool, which we never went in. And they have activities, for those who want to participate. All in all, perfect for a romantic vacation. We went off season and it was quiet, not too many people. I know there is a site that rates Aruba.

Has anyone stayed at the Allegro in Aruba?

If you don't mind my asking, can you please e-mail me at: '[email protected]' and let me know how much it cost for the week in Aruba? My now-husband and I are planning our one-year anniversary trip in September, and we are thinking about Aruba. Thanks.

Has anyone stayed at the Allegro in Aruba?

We spent 2 weeks in Aruba-- we werent bored but we have heard the same comment from other honeymooners-- there are phenomenal restaurants in Aruba--but they are on the expensive side-- very comparable to NY though-- It is a great place to take a step back and relax--to slow down to a different pace of life and the people are friendly Laura

Has anyone stayed at the Allegro in Aruba?

My MOH went there for her honeymoon. I don`t know if it was the Allegro she stayed at but it was an all inclusive place but they gave them 'dine around' coupons that they could use if they wanted to eat at restaurants outside the property. I can find out where she stayed and let you know. She said they were substantial enough for them to eat at some really nice places at least 2 of the nights that were not on the premises which is good if you want to be able to try something different while you are there. I have been to Aruba and have to agree that 1 week is a good amount of time. It is beautiful though and the people are really nice.
