having a hard time
changing my name.i hated BOTH my 1st and last name my ENTIRE LIFE.. now i loveeeee my last name.. its.. ME!
my lic is expiring in 2 months. i have to go to the dmv Friday.. i reallllllllllllllly dont want to change yet. im so sad. my last name is so long i never sign it anyway. just the 1st 4 letters.. but im a freakin Hatzipetrou dammnit!!!!

i've been using my new last name since sept and at 1st i hated it and didnt feel like me at all (thus not fully changing it from may till sept), but now that i got used to it more or less it feels okso my point is that u get used to it eventho its really hard at 1st
then again, u dont have to change it, is Will making u???

why change it? just renew it with your maiden namemine's expiring in a few weeks and i'm not changing it

You know how I feel about all this.I love my last name too.
Won't be changing it for a looooooooooong time if at all.

Sorry B - I hear you!I never thought twice about changing my name when I got married but when it was time to actually go ahead and start the process it made me sad
It can be a really odd/strange/kinda emotional thing....to change your identity!
I started the process and never finished....total half @ss job! I also have to get a new license soon....gonna change over bc I changed my ssn and my name at work....

I am totally struggling with this too. It's a lot harder to mentally grasp than I thought it would be.

I had a hard time with the thought of changing my name. My DH really wanted me to.I changed it right away, but I am still not used to it! actually my DH introduced me the other day as Marie 'old last name' and I just laughed!
because I always use my old last name even thought I have a new one. I find the whole name thing the most difficult thing to get used to.
I was marie p_____________ or 30 years and now I'm marie s_________________

dh wouldve killed me if i didnt change iti didnt mind. plus if we have a bfh it would be nice for all of us to have the same last name.
