help me decipher a situation please
My friend and I both write for the same editor on occasion. He is very bad with paying, so I won't write for him until I get paid for previous work. He hasn't paid me for my last article, so actually going to the event described below with my friend and writing about it isn't an option. Here's the conversation in brief.
Friend: I'm going to the Event for Editor. Could you ask him for a press pass and give it to me so that my boyfriend can come to the Event with me?
Me: If I do that, won't Editor be expecting an article from me?
Friend: The post (there's a facebook post about it) just says 'email me for a press pass.'
Me: Right a press pass is so that you can write an article lol
Friend: No response
Am I missing something?
How could I possibly get a press pass for someone else, thereby requiring me to write an article about an event I did not attend? Of course, there's also the fact that press passes generally have pictures on them and I'm clearly not her boyfriend lol

If I'm clear on this, and you BOTH write for this editor, why doesn't she email him for a press pass?As someone who recently went to a show as a guest with a friend writing the review, it would be my assumption that the person asking for the press tickets would be the one writing the review.
Is there a reason she doesn't want to ask him?
ETA: I think I was confused... she wants you to get your pass and give it to her boyfriend. I gotcha... In my friend's case, they always give her 2 tickets, one for the writer and one for a guest.
She might be SOL in this case, because I do agree that the editor would probably be expecting a review in return. It doesn't seem like he's just handing out free tickets for the heck of it, especially since you aren't getting paid on time.
