House Hunting on LI...HELP!!!

Just wanted feedback on some NICE areas that are borderline Queens/Nassau. I'm from Queens, but work in the City. My husband drives to work in LIC. We want to find a house that I can still commute to work by train. Any areas that are nice for young families would be best. Can you supply zip codes or names of the area. Thanks!!!
Basically when I grew up I had a lot of visits to the hospital to see my father there. He has multiple sclerosis and often was in the hospital. My mother takes care of things for the most part but I am her support.

House Hunting on LI...HELP!!!

What about Mineola (where my hubby is from) or Williston Park, New Hyde Park, Floral Park, Oceanside, Rockville Center, Baldwin. They are all Nassau/Queens border with easy commutes.

Try looking at neighborhoods that border the Port Washington LIRR line (Auberndale, Bayside, Little Neck, Great Neck, Port Washington). I live right near the Broadway Station (1 stop west of Auberndale) and it takes 22 min from here to Penn).

Its a short line but very very reliable. And all those neighborhoods are easily accesbile from major roads for driving to LIC.

A big NO!!!! to Hempstead. I live in Franklin Square, which is a nice area, I think. Alot of the towns which other people mentioned are nie also (New Hyde Park, Steart Manor, most of West Hempstead, Floral Park, etc.) Let me know if you have any questions about this area because I have lived here over 13 years.

Take care!!

has helped me quite a bit..thought I'd pass it along.

I'm just trying to find a place close enough to drive to LIC and for me to commute into the city. What do you think of Massapequa? I'm basically looking over the internet for the time being. I'm just trying to narrow down my options of nice neighborhoods before I start getting into the thick of things. Thanks for any help.

Hi. I grew up in No. Massapequa. It is beautiful. Not to solicit but my parents home is on the market!!!! It is about 1 hour train ride into Penn and is right near the southern State and Seaford Oyster Bay. My dad drives into Brooklyn everyday for work. Email me privately if you would like to ask any other ?? about Massapequa or the surrounding areas. We looked around that area b4 we bought our house to be near my parents and his mom (but we wound up buying closer to hubbies job in Suffolk) My email is [email protected]. Feel free to ask any ?? you have about the area, schools etc. I'd be happy to help.

What city is Auburndale considered?

That's funny, it doesn't show up on any of the real estate searches. What's the zip code, maybe that would help. Thanks.
