I got my Duet Wedding Video back *video link attached*

took me 2 hours, but I finally got the highlight video up on youtube. It's the only part of the video I really love

here it is highlight

















and honestly, I'm not that impressed. I thought the quality would be like the quality of the photos, but it wasn't. I think it was shot with an older video camera as well because it looks like it a wedding video from the 90's. While the editing is great, and the video flowed perfectly, I expected much more from duet

Also, just a heads up duet girls, they gave me 3 dvds that were all blue ray- and because I have a 'normal' dvd player, I couldn't watch it on the tv (it kept saying 'disk can not be read', and we tried watching this on 4 different dvd players). I had to play it on the computer. So do yourselves a favor and request them to be on a regular dvd if you do not have a blue ray player.

thanks for the heads up. I hvnt gotten mine yet but i have a feeling i wont like it either. I honestly regret not booing vid with another vendor.

also make sure u call them and request it be made on a regular dvd format!!!!!!! they will do i!

Yikes! A 90's quality video on a Blu-Ray? Sorry to hear about that.

I called them this morning, and they think it was a mixup because I wasn't supposed to receive all blue rays. I also explained to them about how I am disappointed in the quality of the video, and they said they will give me the raw footage which I can have someone else edit if Id like, but the quality is still going to be the same because it was shot with the 'crappy' video camera.

I am so sorry that you're not happy with your video. But I liked the highlight video you posted. I hope it grows on you (what happened with most of my engagement photos.) or you are able to find a way to fix it. I know DH and I are probably bringing our raw footage to another place or playing around with a video editor because duet told us they couldn't do a blooper reel instead of a honeymoon montage. Thanks for the heads up on the blu-ray because we ordered 7 cds and most of them are going to people that wouldnt have a blu-ray

Can you tell me when you ordered your video? I am a little bit jealous you have yours

Thanks! I sent my song selections in the first week of July, and after calling ever week for almost a month, I got it Wednesday. So about 4 and a half months total.


Totally off topic, but when DH and I were waiting, we were looking through their albums, and there was a few pictures of you and your DH in the sample albums!! I'm like ' omg I know her lol'

DEMAND THE RAW UNEDITED FOOTAGE-
and send it ALL out somewhere to be reedited. See if Edward from Orange Films would take it on.
He's amazing.


He can put a filter on the footage that will make it look like it's supposed to be vintage and it can be turned to sepia or black and white and that will make up for them not working in HD.
If not him- there are a million graphic designers out there who can help!

DEMAND THEY GIVE YOU THE UNCUT RAW FOOTAGE PERIOD.
There's no reason in hell you should feel disappointed after all the money you spent!

Thanks for the advice! They told me they will give me all of the unedited raw footage because we need it for the lawsuit against my venue, but I definitely plan on making a copy. A friend of mine who went to school for film & tv editing said she'd take a look at it and see what she can do for me. Hopefully, she'll work her magic

They had a huge delivery of videos on Wednesday, so hopefully yours is one of them! They make deliveries every Wednesday, so chances are you'll be getting yours very soon

It's not bad, but it's not the high quality that you'd expect for the price you pay. Unfortunately, I've heard that more often than not about Duet's video. At least they were easygoing about giving you the RAW footage. It doesn't hurt to have one of the other vendors on here take a peek at it.
