I'm kinda freaking out! (may include TMI a bit)

OK so I've posted a bit about this but I was taken off the pill exactly 2 weeks ago because of high blood pressure. We are NOT TTC and I may get an IUD but can't until my next period. So the day after going off the pill I got my period - which was fairly light but definitely a period, for about 4 days. DH and I did the dirty 3 times the week after my period, so last week, with condoms each time. This week I'm feeling SO strange. I had some slight cramping the other day (which could be ovulation pain, I've had it before). But then the last 3 days I've had NO appetite and been soo exhausted and today I'm dizzy and slightly nauseous (although that may just be the dizziness). We used protection every time and only had sex in my least-fertile time, not at all this week which would be when I'm ovulating if I went back to being regular immediately. I took 1 pregnancy test and it was negative but I know if I was pregnant it would be too early to tell.

I don't even know what I'm asking but I guess could these be side effects of coming off the pill/hormone changes? How likely is it that I'm pregnant within 2 weeks of stopping the pill, while using protection and not having sex during ovulation??

Or could it be something totally different altogether? Like maybe I'm coming down with something?

Ahhh just kinda panicking a bit! Thanks for reading!

Re: I'm kinda freaking out! (may include TMI a bit)

i wouldn't worry too much about it just yet.

although it is technically possible you're pregnant, it sounds really unlikely (especially since you took a pregnancy test and it was negative)

Re: I'm kinda freaking out! (may include TMI a bit)

If you used protection, it didn't fail and you weren't ovulating I'd say it'd be a miracle if you were pregnant. Immaculate conception!!

Hope you feel better

Re: I'm kinda freaking out! (may include TMI a bit)

I have a friend that became pregnant RIGHT after stopping her BC. her story is a long, personal one, so i'm not going to get into it... but with that being said... i think its just your body reacting to the change. i've been off BC for like 7 years and still get that feeling.. and its usually just after my period or just before.

dont stress out yet. if you start stressing then your period will get all weird and off track.

its prob just this stupid weather.

AF started Feb 11th- though it may have been a 'fake' period bc I had just stopped the pill. The cramps were through the night 2 nights ago, so Feb 22nd/23rd.

youre 2 days behind me as far as your cycle goes i Od on Monday...

even if you do end up being pregnant nothing you feel now would be related to that... because implantation hasnt occured yet...

sperm can live for 3-5 days but with condoms and the fact that you dont have reason to believe any of them failed i wouldnt even worry about it...

also i feel so terrible posting something like this when I know so many girls struggle with TTC and want it and here I am hoping I'm not, so Ang thank you soo much for responding and helping me feel better

Re: I'm kinda freaking out! (may include TMI a bit)

BC raises your blood pressure, that is why the doctor took you off. Now that your body is adjusting to the lack of added hormone and the slowing down of your heart rate. That will make you dizzy and slow youa ppetite a little because youa ren't burning as fast. If that makes sense. Relax! If you were preggers, you would know it.

THANK you! the dizziness and lightheadedness I knew I could attribute to the hormone change. The change in appetite I didnt get, but you are right, I have a home blood pressure monitor and my blood pressure has gone down significantly in the last 2 weeks. So that really could all be related???

Absolutely. When your heart is working faster, you are burning higher and more hungry....same for the opposite.

Anytime lovely!! Stop stressing. It could take your body up to 6 months to adjust to the feeling of not being on the pill. Sorry. Just drink more. Buy wine by the case. It's cheaper that way

Everyone can relax!!! Our parents did worse when they were pregnant with us and you aren't pregnant. I got a long overdue pedicure yesterday. Thought it would help the flu to go away.
