Is a phone call too much these days?!?!

Is it so much to call these days? Granted I love text, facebook chat, and everything else where I dont have to see a persons face some time or hear their voice...But seriously, some people resort to it way too much.

Can you believe I got invited to a wedding via facebook message and text. Person was not so close to me, and Needless to say I didnt go!

Or this one time i get a text saying, my grandpa died funeral is at this place etc...

MARRIAGE AND DEATH shouldnt be used in texts! A phone call just seems way more appropriate.

Anyways, my rant is about, My good friend who just purchased a town house, is having a little get together (housewarming) this Saturday. Two weeks ago she texted me to ask me if I was free on the 26th? I said yes, she said she'd get back to me because she wanted to ask everyone else if they were free.

Anyways Monday she texts me n says hope to see you on Saturday. I was like Oh the plans finalized? k thanks for letting me know I was about to make other plans. She texts me k will call soon.

Its now Thursday, she hasnt called, I know shes still having a party on Saturday, and I dont even know her house address. Isnt it her job to tell me ? Is it so much to formally call someone and invite them especially if they are your good friend.

Im kind of annoyed about this, Am i just making it a big deal!?

Re: Is a phone call too much these days

i am guilty of this. texts/email/facebook are just sooo much easier, especially when multitasking

then i think it just becomes a habit

next time you see her tell her to call you

ORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR....you can call her. the phone works both ways. so if she is a friend and this is bothering you, i would just call her.

Re: Is a phone call too much these days?!?!

i was invited to a wedding via FB also once ... but it was a small vegas wedding (only 20 guests total, including the families). still, i was a bit taken back by the informality of it.

as for your friend & her housewarming party, i'd text her and ask her to call you ... then you can express your frustration about the lack of communication
