medical mystery - just warning you...TMI

so i am on BC pills and my . has always been regular. last month i just didn't get my . i took a hpt and no baby. so, based on this finding, i started the next pack of pills on the day i would have/should have had i had a normal .

waiting patiently for my friend to come today. if not, going to take another hpt and then i guess make a drs appt...???

i mean i'm not really nervous....yet.

i wrote off january as stress from my FIL passing away unexpectedly. if things dont resume to normalcy TODAY then i'm going to start getting upset i think.....

Re: medical mystery - just warning you...TMI

aw im sorry, its always so stressfull when my period is weird too so i understand. i would say that i agree that if it keeps up acting strange than to go to the doctor, atleast youll know definately than whats going on. could be nothing, my period has changed so much over the years it goes months/years one way and then changes. also whenenever i have stressed over not getting it, it just makes it later, the other thing is since it was crazy in january your body might just have to kinda reset itself and get back on track. either way, im sorry and keep us posted!!

Re: medical mystery - just warning you...TMI

Have you been on these pills for a really long time? Or did you maybe just switch pills recently. I'm not a doctor, but when I switched BC last year to YAZ I didn't get a period. (which my doctor said was normal and ok) I was tired of taking tests every month, so I asked to be switched back to my current pill.

I wouldn't be to worried about it. I suspect your doctor will confirm, why don't you just call your doctor and ask. He will be able to tell you over the phone if you should come in for an apt. or not.

Re: medical mystery - just warning you...TMI

I would take another HPT and then call your MD to see what he/she thinks about the skipped periods.

Re: medical mystery - just warning you...TMI

i got my . this morning. i am really thinking that despite being on BC the stress of january caused my body to freak out and miss a month. i had my annual not too long ago and all was well so i didn't call my dr.

i will absolutely call her if anything irregular continues and i'll bring this up on my next regular visit.

Re: medical mystery - just warning you...TMI

glad it all worked out, and just for future reference if necessary:

i was on the same pill for 9 years, and was totally regular but every few years it would change totally...like the pattern would change, the day i got it would change, and once or twice i missed it

i was told by more than one medical professional (including the one married to my brother who i trust with my life and the lives of any and all future children) that if you don't get a period for 60 days and you arent pregnant that is when you should contact your dr (unless of course you have other symptoms or areas of concern).
