Name Change ?

I'm a month away from my 1 year anniversary and I STILL haven't changed my name. I have airline tickets purchased in my madien name. If I go ahead and change my name, Can I just show my old license with my madien name at the airport. I'm flying domestically.

When are you thinking of going to change it...and when is your trip?

I'd be a worry wart and wouldn't change it till I got back.

We ran into this with our honeymoon.... had to make sure everything was in my maiden name (obviously b/c we booked prior to getting married) and I haven't changed my name yet jus to make sure everything matches - we leave for the HM in 2 weeks.

I would just wait until you get back - unless the trip is a while from now and you think you would be able to get everything changed over soon.

You dont want to get there w/ your old license and something not match and get stuck

Our trip is in December. My current license doesnt expire till 2018. So my thought was, change my name but hold onto my old license. I've never had my license scanned or anything at the airport. They usually just look at it.

when you change your name at the DMV, they'll give you a temporary card with your new information on it.

I was told if I plan on flying, to show my old license and the temporary card, along with my marriage license.

but just to be on the safe side (and so your not carrying around so many important documents), just wait to change it.

i still have one CC in my old name. i just carry around my old license too. i dont think its that big of a deal.

DH is constantly harrassing me and still calls me by my maiden name because I havent made the switch. I'm thinking one day soon I'm just going to get it over with.
