Need Quick Help--Gift Question!

Hi Ladies!

I know it's been forever, but I didn't know where else to turn with this question!

Tomorrow night DH and I are flying to Tennessee for my college roommate's wedding. For our wedding, she didn't come to my shower and gave me a tea kettle at the actual wedding. I know she was completely strapped for cash, so I didn't really mind, I was glad she was there to celebrate.

I went to her 'bridal luncheon' a few weeks ago (she didn't want to call it a shower). She and her FH aren't really registered anywhere since he's been married before and they've lived together for a while. She has always wanted a Kate Spade bag, so I got her one. It was delivered late, so I didn't get to give it to her at the shower (although I told her about it).

Should I also put a check in a card for the wedding or just give her the bag? I know she didn't spend as much on me, and DH says the bag is fine especially since we're travelling for her wedding and she didn't have to travel for ours (she lives in Brooklyn now, but she's from Tennessee).

What do you think!? sorry this is so long!

Re: Need Quick Help--Gift Question!

If it were me - I'd give her a card and a small gift... the Bag is technically her 'shower' gift... and since you did attend the shower & the wedding - I'd do the 2 gifts. I doesn't have to be crazy though.. just a small something.

Re: Need Quick Help--Gift Question!

The bag is really just for her - her soon to be DH, doesnt really get any use out of the bag - KWIM??

I understand you paying for the travel and her not giving you as much but I would put a check in the bag. That way you are atleast giving her DH a 'gift' too - doesn't have to be a lot - maybe $100?? I am sure that will cover your plates.
