off-strip AC hotels
name some GOOD/DECENT hotels that are not on the strip.planning a group wknd away and trying to save some $$. so far all the casinos are around $250/nt for a saturday night, so im looking for good alternatives
dont mind having to drive 15 minutes btwn hotel and casino...
ideas? suggestions? reviews?
some of the ones online look pretty questionable...

I LOVEEEEE the Borgata! It's not near the other hotels. but I think its more $$$ on the weekends - we usually stay over sunday night - its cheaper.

HARRAHS!
Exactly what I was going to say. I was trying to get DH to stay there for his bro's bachelor party but they want to stay at the Tropicana.
Whatever.

When I had to bring the dog, we stayed at the Sheraton which is walking distance (across the street) from the outlets and not too far of a walk from the strip. Not a bad hotel either.

My friends and I use to stay at the Flagship when we were younger. It's off the strip and is clean. Neighorhood is kind of skecthy but all of AC is filthy so no biggie.

Re: off-strip AC hotels
We stayed at something like the Clarion or one of those middle-range hotel chains. It was about 10 mins driving time from the strip, and we just paid $5 to park near the boardwalk. Very clean, free breakfast, and it was like, $65 a night!

Re: off-strip AC hotels
Do any of the people that are going have a casino card? You might be able to get decent room rates that way.I have a Harrahs card so i am able to get rooms at Harrahs, Ballys, Showboat or Ceasars at a good rate.
also can you change it to a Friday? You can get better rates then.

Re: off-strip AC hotels
try pricing out The Chelsea. It is not a casino but it is a boutique style hotel on the boardwalk, actually nextto the Tropicana. We stayed there in Nov on a Sat night for around $175. The hotel is gorgeous and has it's own restuarant and night club...also a rooftop pool for the warmer months.

Re: off-strip AC hotels
We actually stayed at La Semana which is like 5 minutes from the strip....we stayed there one weekend with friends because The Tropicana, Borgata and Cesars were all booked......to be honest, it was really really nice and they provide free shuttle service every 20 minutes to the casinos....you tell them where to drop you off and they pick you up and bring you back too!Welcome New Vendors
