Philly

DH and I have never been and are thinking of a long weekend in October to go.
any recc's on where to stay and what to do?
i was just checking out Eastern Sate Penitentiary and it looks so cool!!! Has anyone been to the terror behind the walls???????

any other suggestions on what to do?

Philly is awesome! I'm actually going there tomorrow night for 2 days for work, but we've been there a few times before.

It's a really nice city - tons of atractions (museums, etc.), good food, and just a fun atmosphere. I'd recommend staying in the center of Philly. We've stayed at the Sheraton before and I think I stayed at the Crowne Plaza before -- if you look on Travel Zoo you can sometimes find really good deals for nice hotels - like $100 a night.

we've been there before. we stayed in the center where basically everything is all - all the museums and stores and the old part of town as well.
however, IMO and DH's as well, we thought that while Philly was fun - it was also a very dirty city - with tons of x-rated movie theaters everywhere, trash all over the street and bums everywhere!
it was kind of a turn off.

not like there aren't bums here, but not like over there, IMO again...
