plum rug

There are a few things I'd like to accomplish with the apartment this week while DH is away for work.

We have been meaning to get a rug for the entry way. It's a fairly wide open space but it's tricky in terms of furniture because the hall closet takes up a lot of space and leaves the available space kind of limited.

Our floors are really light/natural wood and there is grey slate tiles in the kitchen with black granite countertops (you see this as soon as you walk in). We have a lot of green/sage accessories in the apartment and our couch is tan with huge red paisley pillows (see pic below)

What do you guys think of this plum rug?

I don't want DH to walk in to a huge purple rug when he returns home but I kinda love this deep rich plum color and I think it would be great against the super light wood...

PS - the couch/pillows are off the in the background when you first walk in but we live in a 1 bedroom so everything in the main room is kinda visible from the front door

Re: plum rug

i lovee those colors together!! but is it going to be a lot going on with the sage as well?

also, are the walls in your apt light? the rug seems a little dark, which isnt bad as long as your apt has lighter walls.
