Question for the tall girls
I've been tall my whole life. I ended up at 5'8 which isn't soooooooooo super tall I guess but I've been this height since about 13 or so....so it felt REALLY tall back then.Anyways, DH is about 5'10 or so...
I not a high high high heels girl to begin with because I'm 6 FEET if I wear 4' heels.
But, I do enjoy a pretty 3' heel....and it puts me in just a smidge taller than DH....his shoes add a smidge of height so when I wear heels...for a wedding say....we look either exactly the same height or I look like a touch taller than him.
I don't really care and he doesn't care at all...but once in a blue moon it 'annoys me' (for lack of a better word).
What do you guys think? Do you rock heels and strut your stuff? Do you avoid heels?
we have a bunch of weddings coming up and I have some gorgeeeeous shoes lined up...so that is what has me thinking about it

Re: Question for the tall girls
i'm 5'7'' and alllllmost always wear heels to stuff like weddings.cuz i have fat legs and they slim you, yknow?
DH is 6'2'' though so i have more stretch room than you do. but even still.. i'll wear huge heels and be practically as tall as him it feels like.
i dont care.
i never dated guy that were shorter than me or even really as tall as me. always went after tall guys.

Re: Question for the tall girls
I am about a 1/2 inch to an inch taller then DH - without shoes on.So ANY heel makes me taller and I love me some heels LOL I have pretty big feet (11 wide, sometimes WW) so finding shoes is hard, so when I do find ones that fit I buy them (comfoy or not) and some times that means a good size heel.
On our wedding day, I wore flats - mostly for picture reasons and I wanted to be comfy but for other events, I do wear heels and am taller then him. But not w/out a huffy puff attitude from DH LOL I try to wear smaller heels but some times, you just cant LOL

Re: Question for the tall girls
I rock 4' heels and I'm still a FOOT shorter than him. This question is not for me. lol!
But my SIL is 6'. She usually wears very low heels (2' tops) and is always on the hunt for a tall guy. I know her ex was shorter than her with heels on and she usually just went with it, though I know it annoyed her, too.

Re: Question for the tall girls
I don't have may pics on my work laptop (although it is a total excuse bc I am really bad with pictures on the computer in general) but here is a pic that shows me in 3' inch heels....as you'll see, my head is kinda tilted down...which is like a go-to pose for me...I think a subconscious reflection of being tall
Oh, and that ismy grandma in the middle of us - she just turned 90 and is super cool!

Re: Question for the tall girls
I don't wear heels very often because I have no balance in them. I'm 5'8 and DH is barely 5'10...he's probably like 5'9 and 3/4ths, so it doesn't take a whole lot to make me taller than him. If I do wear heels or wedges though, I don't care. My feeling is that I can't change it-I can't cut my shins off and make myself shorter, so there's no use fussing about it.That's just me though-if I don't like something and can't change it, then I just let it be. I can see why it may be a bothersome thing to some.
ETA: pick the cute shoes over worrying about being taller!

Re: Question for the tall girls
I never care about being taller than DH.DH is 5'9' and I am 5'3' and for some reason I always think we are very close in height. so now that I wear 4' heels I am still shorter than him, but even I wasnt I wouldnt care, not sure why women supposed to be shorter than men, what difference does that make?

Re: Question for the tall girls
All the really cute heels make me taller than DH - I'm 5'7'', DH says he's 5'10'' but it's more like 5'8'' and a half. So I normally save those for the girls only events (bridal/baby showers, bachelorette parties, nice dinner with the girls).

Re: Question for the tall girls
My husband doesn't care if I'm taller than him in heels, but I dont like it. I just hate my height and always have had issues with it.But usually when I wear heels I'm not taller than him. I'm 5'8/5'9 and he's 6'0.
I wish I could wear HUGE heels though...grrrr it's annoying

Re: Question for the tall girls
i'm a flats or flip flopper.I absolutely HATE being taller than DH. It gives me a complex because I'm already a plus size, I don't need to feel any bigger than I already am lol

Re: Question for the tall girls
I too am about a 1/2 inch to an inch taller then DH - without shoes on.He loves me in heels... It doesn't bother him a bit that I'm taller than he is..
Regardless - I'm not a huge heel wearer though -If I wear a heel, its usually a chunky one and only about 2 inches or so as the physics just don't work out for me
- anything Higher or Slimmer and I'll fall over.

Re: Question for the tall girls
I'm 5'11'...maybe even 6' (but I like staying the the 5s haha). DH is around 6'3. I've worn heels around him, but I like being shorter than someone for once in my life. I've dated guys that were shorter than me (one that was significantly shorter), and I always felt like a giant. If I were thinner and less curvy, maybe I wouldn't have felt so giant-like, but who knows haha. I do like how heels make my legs look a little more defined. My uncle's wife is from Brazil, and she is not even 5' tall. I've never seen her without heels, and she always tells me that heels were invented for super tall women so that they could accentuate their height even more. I always tell her that--where she is from--SHE is considered tall
.ETA: DH could care less if I look taller or shorter than him, he thinks I look great either way.

crashing
I'm 5'5, not tall but FH is 5'8 tops so I understand about the high heels. I wouldn't want to be any shorter though, I'm sure you feel the same way since you've posted about enjoying being tall. I'm pushing 3 inch heels for the wedding, using as much height as I can get away with
