questions for Kate

I have a few questions about Eastwind... We booked the Country Gardens for a July wedding! How many people did you have at your reception? I am worried.. our guest list is climbing & I think we are looking at about 150 people.. should I be worried about that? If I remember correctly, I thought they maxed out at about 160, right? But what is really comfy there? Thanks!! Val
You can email me if you want.. fnrldrectr@aol

They can actually put 180 in that room, but I wouldn't. I have 114 people and there was so much room. You should be fine, but I would stop at 160. It might get very tight in there after that. Good Luck. I'm going to a wedding next weekend in the back Estate building. I'm excited.

When the License was issued to you initially, it should have had a reference number on it. At least ours did - it was issued in Queens County. If you don't have the reference number, I'm sure they could look it up for you with just your names.

Jenny

Sure Jenny - No Problem. I booked there based on recommendations from friends and acquaintences that attended or had weddings there. I have never heard anything but good about the place. My wedding was simple but elegant and the food was wonderful. Sometimes (and I know now - after being married) we get caught up in who has the best food, best ritziest place. You can pay $150.00 per head and the food can come out uncooked and cold as well. Some of these brides feel that they need to spend a fortune on food and catering to get good results when in fact, the same things can go wrong. It's all about your ceremony anyway. Anyway, I'll let you know how it works out. I already know the maitre' de was fabulous and my girlfriend here at work had a different guy and he was great too. You will never be without a drink, your dress will be perfect in their hands, the bridal suite has full coverage of people and food! All of my accessories (i.e. veil/cake top/centerpiece/cards/etc) were packed up into shopping bags by my maitre de for me to leave with. My bridesmaids or family did not have to do anything. The wedding I have is on the 14th, so I'll give you an update when I return on Monday or maybe Tuesday if it's a great wedding! lol lol

Thank you ladies for your replies. I know it's not a big deal...quite a trivial point that we all share! I'm glad I'm not the only one 'suffering' :-)

questions for Kate

Kate I am getting married at the Estate...can you give an update after you attend the wedding to let me know how it goes...There was a lot of bad mouthing of Eastwind in the past few weeks. I would appreciate it.

Even though your company may be doing well, they may be taking a more conservative approach because of the downturn. A cautious tightening of the corporate belt....

It may not have to do with your performance. Good to talk it out with your manager though. Let us know how you make out! Good luck!
