Same Old story...

I'd like to not talk about this anymore.

I feel so small as a person at my job. Yesterday, with the 'finger touching' and today, my boss has nothing but complaints about everything I've done so far.

So why not fire me?

I can't collect unemployment because I'm part time I think, and either way - I don't care. We can live on DH's paycheck and we're still planning to move (DH set up another interview, still waiting to hear when and I hope it's not the day of my sonogram - I'd rather him go on my birthday). There's no real benefit to working here. I won't lose a thing.

I want to just write a letter, leave my keys, and say 'It's not working out - I cannot follow everything that goes on here and I never had proper training, and feel that I should have 4 months later. My husband wants me home anyways for health reasons so I think this is the best option. Sorry it's right at the end of crunch time, but the stress is too much.'

I don't want to talk to him. I have tried twice before, the man talks over me, doesn't let me finish and I shut down before I get everything out that I wanna say, so writing it and just disappearing (though it's cowardice) is the best option.

I have no composer left in me.

Re: Same Old story...

If youre truly ready to quit - which you should be because he's a fukking animal and we all hate him for you - I think you should walk in there and say ..

'Im giving you my two weeks notice. Ive been disrespected here for the last time. Yesterday was unaccceptable the way you grabbed my finger like I was a child. The two weeks is a courtesy for you to find someone else, if you think its best we part ways now then I'll pack my stuff and leave. let me know'

You dont have to put up with this. You are a grown woman and deserve respect. GOOD LUCK SWEETIE!!!!! Hang in there.

Re: Same Old story...

If you feel that you can't speak to your boss to give your resignation, then at the end of the day I would just hand him a letter along with your keys and walk out. You need to do what is best for you

As for as unemployment, I would still file because you never know you might get approved it won't hurt you in anyway, so I would file and see what happens

It sounds like you're making a good decision for you. If your boss is that unapproachable I'd just hand him the letter and walk out. No reason to stress yourself out more thinking about having to talk to him.

Re: Same Old story...

I haven't quit for 3 reasons:

1.) I like to have leisure money and whatever I don't spend, it's nice to see the savings sky rocket.

2.) It keeps me occupied. Now that I'm pregnant, I have found things here and there that can keep me occupied. Plus, I do my friends taxes on turbo for them and make cash for myself which nice. I was also thinking of pet sitting, or go work for one of those temp agencies and be on call. I use to do that and I had fun - there were just no benefits, now that's not an issue.

3.) IL's think we're poor. (seriously, we're not). They say retail management doesn't make much, there always on DH's case to find something better 'like his brothers' and on me to 'go back to school'. So I'm thinking of telling IL's I got fired, and leave it at that.

I care too much about what people think, I'm only just now breaking the habit. I hate when people worry about us and our 'finances'. It's our business and we'll manage. I'm not worried about that at all. DH is great with money and I know he wouldn't advise me to quit if would really hurt us.

You know what I really really really wanna write???

'Dear Sir,

I have been an administrative assistant for a good 7 years, and I believe that's long enough to know a bad office when I see one. Your's cannot be helped. You never listen to my ideas, you're cheap, and you're unogranized.

I never knew anyone that alphabetized the way you do - in First Grade, I was told numbers go before letters - I don't file '2' under 'T' for TWO. Seriously, that's not a system for me.

Also, you constantly put me down in front of everyone in this entire building, and quite frankly, everyone has said to me that I should ask you to stop. Oh, by the way, you should probably keep your hands to yourself - there was no reason for you to grab my finger to point at something - I ask simple questions, and you respond like I should know what I'm doing and I know everything about this hell hole you call an office.

I left my last job to grow, and there is a brick wall in front of me, and last I checked, you promised me all this in my interview, and I feel ripped off and mortified.

Thanks for nothing.

ETA: for bad spelling. LOL.

Re: Same Old story...

I'm obivously still here,

but I plan to call in sick tomorrow (today is the ending pay period). I'm leaving my key in the desk drawer, he'll put the numbers in tomorrow for my check, I'm 'off' thursday, and friday morning I'll email the letter.

I'm so done. It's taking everything in me not to pack up and walk out even though he deserves it.
