Shauna got me thinking!

I volunteered at Sloan Kettering's pediatric day hospital every Monday night for 2 years before starting grad school. Tons of little babies and mini patients touched my heart during that time. At the same time, I was exposed to the horrors of cancer especially to the nightmare that is pediatric cancer.

Anyone interested in trying to organize a hugeeee LIW NW fundraiser of sorts where the proceeds go directly towards pediatric cancer research?

I've been following the blog of a mom who has a teenage son with Neuroblastoma. I know she does a TON of fundraising that is committed directly to research. I believe her organization is called 'Band of Parents'....that is one possibility. Or we could do St. Judes which is amazing!

I know this stuff is heavy duty and depressing but we could plan something at a bar/restaurant/store with booze, food, music etc.

Any takers?!?!

i wouldn't know how to plan something like that though, but i'd definitely try to attend, if i could!

I am going to gather some info and get the wheels rolling. Thanks to all who want to participate and or donate! I'll update once I have some details organized!
